View Full Version : Favourite Opposition Player
With all the hatred doing the rounds I thought maybe we could turn the tables and give those opposition players we like an honourable mention.
For me theres only one winner and that has to be Digger.

If Digger doesn't win this poll by a mile, things are wrong...
He'll be reading this I'd say so keep those compliments coming :D
Didn't we already have a thread on this, and Digger won by a mile?
I'll go with Stuey as well.
Tony Bird has taken the section O stick about his "Back to men" hair in a good way as well (I suppose Myler would've been on the list as well for the last game of the season, but then he's one of us now).

Digger for sure. Especially after the semi-final replay in United Park when he showed he had a bit of charachter after that little f*cker Dessie Baker took a hissy fit.

Yeah it has to be digger, always a class act no matter what anyone says about him he takes it in the right spirit. Great player too.

Stu Byrne defo and Willie Bruton is a nice guy aswell but i don't really hate other than Alan Reynolds,Shane Robinson & Trevor Molloy.
As for managers i'd have to day Pat Dolan is a great ambassador for the league and always has respect for any team he is up against.Pat Fenelon is alright aswell and on the hate list would be Stephen Kenny and not because he left Longford but it's all down to the remarks and comments he made afterwards and i think he is a very bad loser.Reynolds is a tramp and Roddy Collins is a snake who will jump ship any chance he gets no matter where he is.
eddie gormley is the man(not technically a player anymore but howinever)
Digger and Don Tierney with Dublin City.
From next season you can probably add Danny O Connor, Myler and Cronin to my list

Watch yourself boy! We could be up there soon enough :)
Digger by a good bit for me. Others would be Gareth Cronin, Dave Hill and Conor O'Grady- all fella's who left city on good terms with the fans and came back without gettin much stick. I know it'll shock a few people, but I do remember having a good laugh on the píss with Reynolds up in longford one night- before he joined city- and had a great chat once with Tony O'Dowd in the TCT after a game a few years back- seemed like a really nice fella.

Mixed feelings over saying this(for obvious reasons) but it has to be Alan Kirby!!!!
To score a goal in a cup final must be an unbelievable feeling but the way he reacted showed everyone exactly how he felt!!Always gave his all in the Blue's shirt and never had a bad word to say about the club.He takes unwarranted stick from the crowd whenever he plays against us,never reacts to it and just gets on with the job unlike 1 or 2 others who left at a similar time(Robinson & Reynolds).A true professional and a gentleman!!!
