All done now, you can read Rico's answers here (http://foot.ie/showthread.php?p=220291).

OK folks .... Its that time again, we have lined up another Q&A session....... We, the patrons of foot.ie are invited to compose questions on anything that ails us about our football league. If you have a who, a what, a where or a when about anything in Irish football then have been invited to pose such a question and have it answered by none other than our very own Damien Richardson.

Damien “Rico” Richardson has stepped up to the plate and volunteered to shine some light where possible on some of the subjects of debate in Irish football, past, present and future. If you have a football query that keeps you awake at night, then a problem shared could be a problem answered. So get busy with that keyboard, as we’ll have a week to compile our questions and send them off to Damien, who in turn will answer them and we’ll post up the answer in due course. The deadline for questions will be midnight 1st Feb.

All normal message board rules (http://foot.ie/info/rules.htm) apply, no abuse will be tolerated and this thread will be policed and not foul play will be permitted.

How far is an EL club is from qualifying for the group stages of the UEFA cup or CL?

Pat Fenlon recently suggested getting someone who has been involved in the league in to run the league, citing Rico as an ideal candidate. Would you like the job Damien?

As we seem to be going no where under the current regieme, Should the league break away from the FAI and set up on it's own ?

Considering the vast majority complain about the standard of refereeing, would you agree that an inititive should be set up to encourage ex players to take up refereeing once they stop playing and offer a "quick" route to top league officiating if they prove themselves competant in lower leagues?

Why did the tash go?

Is Noel King an idiot in real life or does he just put it on for tv?

Do you intend managing again?

Who is the best player you ever had?

Best/worst results & clubs you were involved with?

Will an eL player be capped again anytime soon?

Your fav ground?

Why werent there more Cork players on the various eL teams of the year?

Do you have a 'real' job away from football?

Do you think the Setanta Cup should be expanded to include more clubs?

If it succeeds, do you think league officials should start working towards an All-Ireland League?

Can you ever see yourself re-joining Rovers in some capacity, possibly as Director of Football?

If you could change one thing about the eL, what would it be?

What is the most urgent change neded in the eL?

Who do you think will get promoted and relegated this season?

What are your views on the licencing fiasco?

I am fed up with quotations from Managers/ Players/Pundits which show a scant knowledge of the laws of the game.
To the best of your knowledge, do many of the people involved in the game actually know the rules?

Do you think it would be a good idea that everyone(or at least the Managers/coaching staff) should have to complete a basic referees beginners course to gain an understanding of the laws?

As a result of being out of management for so long, do you think that a club would be unwilling to appoint ye as their manager?

With the league/clubs after exhausting the "sit on our hands" approach with the National Broadcaster when trying to get them to show eL/domestic games, what should be the next step ?

What do you think of John Delaney as the head man in the FAI ? Do you think he will/could be able to do as much as Fran Rooney did ?

With the football system in this country as fragmented as it is, i.e. junior, intermediate and senior teams all pulling in different directions (it appears that way anyway) do you ever see the day where they would all compromise and work in unison to improve the standard/conditions/facilities/funding of football in this country ?

What would be needed to see the above actually happen ?

Do you think that a National Football Magazine would be a good tool to voice opinion, provide information, illustrate and highlight policies throughout the footballing country and what would you like to see in it if there was one ?

What do you think of TV3s attitude towards Irish sport ?

What do you think of the Minister for Sports attitude towards Irish sport ?

Why do you think there is so much apathy towards domestic football in Dublin/Ireland ?

Why do you constantly put down Longford Town FC on eL weekly ?

So that could mean that Rico reads this site, he could even be a member without us knowing

Do we post the messages in this thread? If so my question would be how far does he think an EL club is from qualifying for the group stages of the UEFA cup or CL?

AFIK the league has already broken away from the FAI and are self regulated (hence we have a cr@p league in general when we have so many cowboys running it).

Never! In fact ...

Chest Cee! 'Sdense! Corpo di barragio! you spoof of visibility
in a freakfog, of mixed sex cases among goats, hill cat and plain

Yet all they who heard or redelivered are now with that family
of bards and Vergobretas himself and the crowd of Caraculacticors
as much no more as be they not yet now or had they then not-
ever been. Canbe in some future we shall presently here amid

taking four parts, a choir of the O'Daley O'Doyles doublesixing
the chorus in Fenn Mac Call and the Serven Feeries of Loch Neach,
Galloper Troppler and Hurleyquinn the zitherer of the past with his

Nah .... best to stick to the time given, alot of people visit here only a few times a week (the weekend when they go home, etc.) and would be unfair to go with it before they have had a chance to get in on it. And i dont want to be annoying the man going back and forth with questions.

observer .... you'll just have to hang tough !! ....... And what are you on about ... you haven't even asked a question yet !! :D
