Eircom League Premier Division club, Drogheda United, have today (20 January) announced details of their pre-season tour to Turkey. The club's squad of full-time professionals together with manager and backroom staff will travel to Turkey's Antalya Region on Saturday 26 February and return on 5 March. The side will stay at the exclusive Papillion Belvil Hotel and Holiday Village, a five star resort on the beach in Belek. Although this is the heart of the Turkish golfing region, the sportsman of every code is well catered for.

Manager Paul Doolin is said to be delighted with the opportunity to be able to allow the squad to bond by being away for seven days. "We have a lot of new faces coming in and I want the lads to get a chance to get to know each other on and off the pitch before the season kicks-off at home. While we are in Turkey we will face two sides, one from Poland and one from Turkey so I will be able to try out some tactics and formations as well whilst we are in Turkey" the manager said.

To help fund the trip the Club will be running a race night in February – full details will be posted on the Club website in the coming days.
