Great goal as it was, I'm saying nothing for the moment... ;)

I didn't notice an annoucement yesterday, so I just wanted to check - some sites are getting blocked here for no apparent reason...

Memories of a John Barnes flick against Crewe in the early nineties. :)

That said the goal that Barnes scored was FOR Liverpool :D

http://muppet.boards.ie is a backdoor into it, which is working for me, but not someone else in my office.

It seems to crack under its own weight every now and then.

No joy here either. This is the longest i ever remember it being down.

Anyone in the know what the story is? Are they just updating the server or what?

I got in briefly yesterday, to the front page (it wouldn't let me into any threads/ areas, and I never got back even to that) and it looks like it could be an updated version. However, I had the various boards I looked at in my favourites, so didn't really go through http://boards.ie so I can't really confirm that....

The Week from Hell

Just to fill you in the current status, sometime yesterday we started having problems with our vBulletin database (currently over 2 GB in size) where the server process kept dieing. After a few attempts to restart this, ecksor managed to get it running on Monday night. This was okay until Tuesday afternoon when it started its bad behaviour again. regi tried a database repair, which didn't solve the problem. He then started an advanced database repair which is still underway (due to the huge size of the database).

This has been a bad week for boards.ie; it was just at the end of last week that we had to replace our web server after it "fell over". The administrators offer their apologies, and we assure you that we are doing our utmost to get a reliable forum up and running again.

Thanks for your continued support and patience -

Cloud and the admins.
