Everybody would love to pick and chose matches to serve a suspension especially wanting to be on the bench for a key relegation battle. Seems to work for everyone bar Carrick- Institute have the first leg home loss expunged. Warrenpoint get a chance to stay up and Ballinamallard no longer have to worry about relegation. If they all push for investigation in to the Carrick managers suspensions I see no way other than down for Rangers - rules are rules and seem straight forward enough. Daft that it didnt come to light quicker before the play-off tie started.

An appeal will happen against any decision and then some independent arbitration even CAS will decide to uphold the rulebook and Carrick get relegated anyway but all the bad press will not have been avoided rather than them just accepting that they fooked up accidently or deliberately. Is it obvious that I i'm not too fond of Carrickfergus or Carrick Rangers...

Small beer stuff compared to the IAG scandal in 2006.

I still cringe and shudder when I hear something called a farce or even just the word 'farce' on its own, especially in distinct Dundalk sounding lilt........

Every time I see a petrol can I smile a wistful smile and remember that day. Did he get charged over that, I can't remember?

I know people could have died and all but that was pretty funny. I'm sure even the most committed Dundalk fan will admit being kept down that year contributed to the collective entertainment of the league.

If fairness to the Irish League, they do rival us for the #GreatestLeagueInTheWorld stakes

The penalty decision that sent Warrenpoint down was one of the most ridiculous ones you'll ever see - if anyone can dig it out its worth watching. The penalty itself was also pretty funny.

The penalty is here (http://www.sportsjoe.ie/football/warrrenpoint-town-fc-penalty-relegated/76671) - are Warrenpoint in blue?!

Edit - better video on the BBC site (http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/36140645), showing the penalty and the three (!) rebound attempts.

That's an appalling decision. That said, 50 seconds in to the below is a penalty as well - UCD away to Lisburn Distillery -

I don't like criticising referees generally because it's too easy - but...

Dont know how the ref came to decide that was a penalty but anyhows, there was no shortage of reasons to be depressed watching that footage if a Warrenpoint or Dungannon fan. Didnt Warrenpoint groundshare with Swifts as Newry wouldnt let them use the Showgrounds while they were getting their own little patch in some order?
