Yep, I missed a week too. And I seemed to have lost all touch for this which does not help either.

Yep missed most of a week too and it's a killer. I wonder would it be possible to introduce a new rule for future seasons that your two worst weeks over the season are not counted. It wouldn't unfairly punish the people who don't miss a week and it would help to keep the interest for anyone that does.

As you can see from the table, players in 3rd/4th/5th have managed to get 11 correct scores, yet SwanVsDalton in 33rd has 15 correct scores (that user may not be good at guessing the other games though!), something not quite right about that. Also another situation is for instance you can gain points from a game with a wrong prediction, for instance, if you predict Bohs 1-0 Cork and the actual score is Bohs 1-2 Cork, you actually get a point, where as someone who predicted Bohs 0-3 Cork, will get 2 points.

If I was to change the system, it would be 4 points for a result, 2 points for correct margin of victory, and removing the points from the home and away teams goals, giving a max total of 6 points per prediction if correct on both counts. I think this Incentivises users to try and predict a score rather than using safe tactics to score some points.

When we do this for the World Cup/Euros amongst the lads if they miss a game or games they automatically get a 0-0 for th(at)/(ose) game(s). It at least means you'll possibly end up with something and you won't feel too crappy if you miss a week.

I'm all for your proposal as well for max of six per game. Guessing that Bohs got a goal in your above scenario is no real skill.

When I was running it I meant to draw up a set of rules and throw them up somewhere. Guess that should still be done as the league continues to be pretty popular – In fairness to The Boss he does a sterling job.

But I would be dead set against giving fellas a week off mind you – that’s one of the beauties of this IMO – it’s the World Snooker Championship of Predictions events – stamina and perseverance are key!

Maybe as a compromise we don’t have to predict every single week. Make the predictions season shorter or maybe just limit it to games on Fri/Sat and forget the Midweek games?
