Name 11 players that have played for ireland with there 2nd name beginning with K. Please note there is more than 11 but get a team from it. Every position must be filled, meaning the players chosen must have played in at least 1 of the positions on the pitch... I've got 10.... Go for it... ;)

Yeah, Portsmouth. Think he had a loan spell at Tottenham too.

Last I heard, he was involved in some football-related FÁS initiative in Sligo (three or four years ago.) Think he may have played a few games for Sligo during a brief attempted comeback.

You left out a part of the question, they had to have been capped by McCarthy.

He was a player-coach at Finn Harps during Gavin Dykes' time as Manager. Played about a dozen or so games. Had a promising career across the water but got a nasty injury which ended his time in England.

Think he played CB in a comeback game when one of the Irish hacks (can't remember which one) encouraged the booing of keane after he had pulled out of a few friendlies. Think he was MOTM, just can't remember the opposition

Against Iceland at home, I remember Dunphy saying afterwards that we had a mini in midfield with the rolls royce in the garage. It was a 0 0 draw, one of mc carthys most baffling team selections

Late '80s, I think. Played four games in all - one against Yugoslavia in the run-up to Euro 88, and also against Tunisia the first game afterwards (Steve Staunton and Pat Scully's debuts!). Think he was very young - he'd hardly be 40 now, I'd say - but very slight and injury prone. Was a wide midfielder, I think?

But the players were real! Pelé wasn't just a bad actor in real life!

At the end, it goes through the players/actors. Pele, John Wark, some Scandinavians and then Kevin O'Callaghan (I think) of Ireland. He was a real player! He plays Tony Lewis (http://www.spodrum.freeserve.co.uk/victory/pages/cast.htm) - will try and find some more info...

Edit - Google is absolutely brilliant! Here (http://www.millwall-history.co.uk/KevinO'Callaghan.htm) we go!

I remember Kevin O Callaghan alright. Pretty sure he's the O' Callaghan that played in the game below in October 1979

"IRELAND 3-2 UNITED STATES
An historic first ever meeting between the two sides was watched by 23,000 people at Dalymount Park. The Irish manager for the day was Alan Kelly who took over from Johnny Giles who was unable to be at the match through bad health. In his absence Kelly gave a debut to Tottenham's Chris Hughton - the first black player to play for Ireland.
The Americans went into the game having beaten Hungary in Budapest three days earlier and they got off to a great start when they went 1-0 up when Nanchoff set-up Dibernardo for a goal after twelve minutes. The States continued to apply the pressure before Ireland made a number of changes at half-time. However the visitors stretched their lead on the hour mark when Liveric scored. However this only sparked a revival for the Irish who replied with three goals from Tony Grealish, Don Givens and John Anderson.

Ireland: Kearns; Hughton, Martin, O'Leary, Grimes, Murphy, Grealish, Chandler, McGee, O'Callaghan, Heighway. Subs: Givens for McGee (44 mins.), Mulligan for Chandler (half-time), Anderson for O'Leary (65 mins.)
United States: Dubose; Bellinger, Pecker, Keough, Makowski, Dilbernardo, Cantillo, Bandov, Nanchoff, Villa, Liveric. Subs: Van der Beck for Dibernardo (57 mins.), Pesa for Liveric (85 mins.)
Referee: Eammon Farrell (Ireland)"

If I'm not wrong, he got about 18 caps for the national side.

I have been trying to come up with eleven too, by the - an AWFUL lot harder than I had first thought. :o

How about a team of left footed players.

Or a team or left-wingers? (they can be in any position of course).

Currrent players if possible and an all time best?

There's a full back called Kieran O'Reagan listed on the FAI site as having 4 caps. He played against Poland in a defense with McCarthy, O'Leary and Anthony Byrne so maybe you could work out if he was a right or left back. :) There's also a player called Kevin Clarke who got 2 caps in 1948. Others, Ken de Mange (midfielder), Keith Branagan (keeper), Kevin Fitzpatrick (keeper, Limerick legend), Kelham O'Hanlon (another keeper). Thats about it. :)
