I think it's more to see the closest species to the neanderthals

Surely Dundalk fans get to see that every two weeks.

You'd think that, but for some reason people still come out when Rovers come to town.
What's your point Charlie?
Are you saying that Rovers are a big crowd-pulling attraction?
How does this relate to Bradley's bizarre comment?

Pats and Bohs both look big you would need a closer look at injures and suspensions but.
The 5 0 at Wexford a couple of weeks ago may have flattered us and we might be layable, shams might be a lay too if only for the potential for schadenfreude.

Not a big crowd-pulling attraction but bigger than our league position should. Sligo's biggest attendance by far was us last week (discounting the opening day game against us) and that was with a small away support. A lot of clubs would be similar.

It's not really that hard to grasp.

There is a bit of knuckle dragging on this flag but it looks like they've progressed since then.

I can only conclude that you can make no real connection between (a) Bradley's delusion and (b) the crowd pulling power of Rovers on away fixtures relative to their league position.
If you can make the case I'll try really hard to grasp it!

What's so hard to grasp...Bradley says rovers are most clubs cup finails and Charlie says sligos biggest crowds were against rovers....

Serious reality check tonight for Limerick. Could have been beaten by 3 or 4 only for excellent saves from Hall. Clark barely had a save to make.
Limerick looked good for the 1st 20 mins, but mainly because Pats were v sloppy. Keith Tracy* gave an exhibition in giving the ball away. He must have kicked it straight outta play 5 times in a 10 min spell at one stage. Needless to say he was whipped at half time. After the 1st 25 mins tho Pats took over and dominated for the rest of the game.
*What's the deal with Treacy? In the home match against Minsk he showed that he's on a different level to everyone else at Pats ability-wise but when i see him against LOI teams he just never stands out. Is he not able to motivate himself against the humdrum teams of the LOI. Or maybe he's not suited to being a CM and should play out wide. I saw him play wide for Drogs last year and he was v dangerous.

Would agree with your summary. Limerick looked good in the first half, but Pats didn't press them high enough up the pitch. We got fortunate with a deflection for the first goal just on half time, but we were much improved in the second half and well deserved the victory.
On Treacy, he looks to be in shocking shape physically. Has ability alright, but not so much that he can get away with being unfit.

Treacy was a doubt before the game with a hamstring issue. Went off because of that. I thought he did OK but Kelly was good when he came on
Pretty handy win for Pats in the end.

Not injured

All of our problems stemmed from the fact that Pats are just a better team than us. We only had the use of the ball when and where they let us, we created nothing, and but for Hall it could have been 5.

Cheers for the info about Treacy. Didn't know about the hamstring injury. Has Buckley ever used him as a winger or at no10? I'd like to see what he'd be like further up the pitch closer to Fagan.
Yes thats the best performance I've ever seen from Graham Kelly for Pats.

We were nowhere near the standard we actually are tonight too which didn't help but everyone has off nights might have got away with it somewhat against a team not as good on the ball as Pats. Conan Byrnes was excellent for them as was Hoare and McGrath. Not too disappointed tbh a bit that we didn't give a proper account of ourselves but get the real business finished next week and have ourselves confirmed as promoted.

Ringmahon Rovers v Cobh Ramblers - 3pm
For the record, it's Ringmahon Rangers. They would be considered a small club from the southside of Cork city, but are clearly doing things right at the moment as they were runners up to local rivals Ballincolig in the final of the FAI Youths Cup this year. They were considered favourites going into it afaik.

It's a reality check ahead of next season. The league cup final will possibly show if any lessons have been learned from yesterday's loss.

You guys reminded me so much of ourselves when we had the Galacticos midfield a couple of years ago. You moved the ball so well and at speed, and playing out from the back too ( which we eventually cut out by pushing up). But like us when we were playing like that, you were lacking any real chances despite running us ragged in the first 20/30 mins, and it was all for nothing. You'll be comfortable in the premier next year IMO.

I'm not sure about it being a reality check, surely for it to be a reality check it would have to be something that comes as a surprise to us. There isn't anyone around the club that wasn't well aware of the fact we aren't to a standard where we can play nowhere near our ability against a good premier team without being punished. Even at our best it would have been very hard to beat Pats when they are on it the way they were lastnight but its not like we will be going up with the exact same squad as this year anyway, who knows the way things go in LOI it could even be a far worse squad than we have now.

I'm hoping dundalk cork derry and rovers avoid each other...would be nice to have the safety blanket of 4th in the league for a Europa place

Definitely. I reckon we'll need it as I don't quite see us finishing third.
Draw was on 21st last year, if that's anything to go by.

Which Rovers?
Based on recent form, Sligo Rovers are in with a shout for 4th place

Cobh will draw UCD. It's inevitable that there'll be an all First Division tie.
Dundalk will draw Cork and Wexford will draw Pats.
After that, it's anyones guess I suppose.

Not sure what to make of facing our reserves (potentially)
Will they care? Is it a chance for us?
Also, petty quibble alert, but you're doing the draw on national telly and for this you bring in a bucket you found down the back of the shed last night. WTF?!

when they commissioned the new trophy they should have allowed the lid to be removed.

So thats why the lid was stuck, I thought it was due to some damage at the rim of the trophy as I remember the drinking out of the cup previously.
Happy with that draw.
One non league and two first division clubs so far- at home too. Who says the FAI hate us :p
