From the dwogs official site...

The Club has agreed a fee with Longford Town for the transfer of Andy Myler and Danny O'Connor. With the Club moving to a full-time squad, it was impossible for both players to combine the new training times with their job commitments. We wish them well with Longford - thanks for the memories boys !"

Nice one. So will the suggested press conference go ahead announcing new signings. (I know it wouldnt be for a while yet until all sigings confirmed)

Well everyone I've spoken to within the club so far is in favour of the press conference and it was Alan Mathews' idea so hopefully it will go ahead at some stage before the start of the season, one or two more signings probably on the way so hopefully when all's done and dusted they'll be in Longford for photos, interviews etc.

Doesn't leave much place for someone in the side. I reckon Myler and Dessie will be the 1st choice front men.

Roll on March. Really hope a pairing between Dessie and Myler works to give drastic improvements in goals scored.

We needed a finisher and Myler has always been that as evidenced by his great goal against us in the last game of the season

2 Great Signings ! raging we missed out on Danny (best centre half in the league IMO), we just could'nt match what Longford were offering :( Ah well, such is life. Not to sure about Myler though. He scores a few every season but a lot of them are penos are'nt they ? not an out and out scorer but still a half decent signing.

That's all relative, compared to Lavine or Keego he's Gerd Muller :D

Offers a threat from free kicks too which we haven't had since The Man With The Tan departed

Andy finished the season before last with 16 goals - only 1 or 2 behind Glen Crowe, and from a team that finished 8th that year (Not that many where penos - that was the season when he was missing them). He's a quality signing and will be missed in drogland!! The same applies for O'Connor

He was hardly there when Sean Prunty was?

Longford sign Drogs trio

Drogheda United duo Danny O'Connor and Andy Myler have completed their transfers to Longford Town. Gary Cronin, released by Drogheda at the end of the season, has also joined the Town.
Both Myler and O'Connor had been expected to leave United Park after it became clear that full-time football would interfere with their day jobs.

Whats your point? That a person can't change an opinion in 4 years? Sure Lavine was probably playing alright back then, doesn't mean I still rate him...
