I wonder have Limerick any plans to complain to the FAI about the staging of this game in the Aviva Stadium on the same day as FOUR League of Ireland games, including their own game in Markets Field that evening, potentially taking away attendances from games right across the league on the same day.

Nice to see them prioritising the League of Ireland over a meaningless friendly game which will most likely be missing most of the first team players from both sides.

It's a farce really. How can they honestly justify this friendly after the reasoning they gave to us. Will be interesting to see if any journalist has the balls to put it to the FAI.

What reasoning, too close to loi fixtures or max 20k capacity or max 10k capacity or Barca and Fai already in discussions for friendly or secret imaginary contract already signed or whatever else they came out with!!

The journalists have the balls all right, the FAI just don't answer any question they don't like. Look at the AGMs - no financial information worth talking about. Same with the infamous "plan" for the League.

According to the Limerick Leader, Celtic vs Inter Milan has been set for August 13th in Thomond Park. It's the same day as Limerick vs Caninteely in the first division.

Have the FAI actually given permission for the Thomond game to go ahead yet?

They refused permission for something similar a few years ago.

I'll be interested to see how it's priced. Honestly don't think glasgow greens v inter is a particularly big draw at the moment.

One thing is certain in all of this. The absolute clowns that run thomond park will find a way to lose their shirts. :good:
