See RTE 2 are showing the hilarious Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back (well I think it’s good anyway :D ) on Thursday night starting at 9.30 but…………….. at 11pm the news is on for half an hour and then back to the film for the last 20 mins  .

WTF?? they did the same last week with Chain Reaction could they not start the films at 9pm  .

Anyone who makes a Kevin Smith movie last longer than it should is committing an act of pure evil. The man is a bloody awful film maker.

Oh and as if that isn't enough this film, like many of Smith's, carry the universal symbol of turd in the credits which is also known as 'Ben Affleck'

Completely disagree there. Smith's film's have always made me laugh, and while not always being the most technically adventurous (sp?), they are very funny.

Jay and Silent Bob is one of my favourite movies ever, it's just completely stupid for 90 minutes. And Will Ferell is the funniest man in the world ever.

RTE always do that with their thursday night movies though Dublinharp, which is why I refuse to watch any of them. Would it kill them to start the movie at 9 so we could watch the whole thing in one piece?

Either that or i could just watch the dvd i have of it... again....

One of the crap things they copied off ITV. Again, I never watch the Thursday night movies because of this. They should either move the start to 9 or move Sharon to after the film has finished.

Cant agree with you there. I think Smith is one of the the best comedy movie writers in manys a year. Clerks was without doubt, the finest comedy of the last 10 years. Its uber verbosity adds to its flavour, and the entire movie just makes sense. Who else could say that the workers on the death star were masters of their own destiny, therefore, their life insurance shouldnt pay out. Clerks shows people at their worst, in a very real way.

Mallrats, while every review Ive read of it said it was rubbish, was another top notch comedy. It over trivialised everything, Brodie was a loser we all loved, Ben Affleck for once played a great chracater, and Shannen Doherty looked quite hot throughout.

Chasing Amy. This was the movie which made Smith a hollywood darling. Personally i found this to be awful gratuitous crap. That said, had the characters of Jason Lee and Ben Affleck been switched around, it would have made a huge difference, as I could not stomach Afflecks attempts to act the good guy.

Dogma. Strange movie, but back to Smiths 'basic' best. It was a ridiculous plot, but Matt Damon convincing a nun that God doesnt exist was great, even though he himself is an angel exiled on earth. Again, Affleck came close to ruining this movie for me, but its plot kept it good for me.

Jay and Silent Bob. Amazingly stupid plot, but it is absolutely hilarious. Jays stupidity is legendary. I wasnt mad about the fact that Bob lost his silent-ness, but you cant have everything. Will Ferrell is very funny in this as always and those evil girls are just a fantasy.

Jersey Girl. Too much Ben Affleck, so i cant watch it.

Thats my point why not 9pm, we are given them €3 more a year multiply that by a few million...

Class film, anyone who hasen't seen I watch it, good laugh apart from the news part at 11, which will probably be depressing...

Hang your heads in shame, the only movie that Ben Affleck was in where he didn't have an adverse affect on it was Boiler Room. And Kevin Smith should remove his head from his arse!

I have a vacancy if anyone wants to move Sharon there. You get to enjoy the film in all it's unadulterated glory, while I get to, ehm :D

Its one of the most annoying things. Stop a film with about half an hour left for a 10-15min news program.

Just looked at tv guide from paper there, they have Friends on at 9pm, and who hasn't senn every episode of that at least a couple of times?
