Andrew Maxwell did a good sketch on The Liffey Laughs last night about Bush's Texan/Southern friends.

but these are some of my favourites: "Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country." —George W. Bush, Poplar Bluff, Mo., Sept. 6, 2004

"We will make sure our troops have all that is necessary to complete their missions. That's why I went to the Congress last September and proposed fundamental — supplemental funding, which is money for armor and body parts and ammunition and fuel."

This (http://beecher.ie/play/media/bush-fool-me-once.mpg) is my personal favourite, I guess because it's easier to accept when you can actually see him making a complete pr1ck of himself.

anyone see him abruptly talk INTO his tie recently in the middle of a sentence at a press conference?? best stuff i've read on bush is 'the bush dyslexicon' by mark crispin miller; not just a funny quote book (there are hundreds of pages of those though), he disects the language and explains bush's malaproprisms, and his tendency to blurt out the truth even when he's trying to lie. fascinating and disturbing all at once

The Yanks deserve everything they get.

well it's worth remembering that something like only 25% of the population voted for him which is frightening for a couple of different reasons.

here's the video i mentioned above, 16 minutes in he jerks awkwardly and hunches over to says something to the voice in his ear (rove?)

you couldn't make it up!

sorry, not sure why, let me give you another one that links to that page maybe.

try this, sorry again, worth watching though! scroll about halfway down to the topic review section and you'll see two links, 'bush's very bizarre behavior at a press conference on 12/20' and 'watch this video' which gives you instructions on where to find the tie-talk bit

"First, let me make it very clear, poor people aren't necessarily killers. Just because you happen to be not rich doesn't mean you're willing to kill."

but with bush, this game is like shootin fish in a barrel:

"Some of the debate really centers around the fact that people don't believe Iraq can be free; that if you're Muslim, or perhaps brown-skinned, you can't be self-governing and free. I strongly disagree with that."

sorry, not sure why, let me give you another one that links to that page maybe. That link to the Reply page, the actual thread is here (http://boards.charlierose.com/board/topic.asp?ti=10438). All the links in that (first) post work for me, including the video (rtsp://cspanrm.fplive.net/cspan/project/iraq/iraq122004_bush.rm) (which requires the RealPlayer). Apparently the dodgy behaviour is at 16 mins 47 secs, I ain't seen it yet cos I have to restart Firefox to get RealPlayer to work. :)
