Are they doing up the road there Forza? Be great to see a bit of an upgrade there, make it that little bit easier to get access from the main road!

I use the Wexford town access road to the ground so I don't know what they are doing on the access road from the Dublin side. There was some woeful potholes on the Wexford town access road the last time I used it, so I'd guess a bit of road re-surfacing.

A lot of road re-surfacing seemed to take place around Wexford just before the Election.....

Wexford will be disappointed not to get something out of the match tonight as a second very late goal for the away side secured the three points for Longford in an arctic Ferrycarrig Park. Youths began with Graham, Craig McC., Lee, Gary, Ryan, Aidan, Jonny, Hopper, Eric and with Danny and Spot up front. Youths looked lively from the start playing against a stiff breeze, but conceded from Longford's first attack when a low shot by Longford's O'Connor from 20 yards out beat Graham at his near post for 0-1. With 14 gone, Gannon then picked up a yellow for a tackle on Wexford's Friel. Three minutes later, Skinner in the Longford goal made a good save after Jonny found Danny Furlong with a pass inside the Longford box. On 22 minutes, Gary Delaney hooked wide as the ball fell to him from yet another long throw by Craig McCabe. Two minutes later, Spot Murphy headed over after Skinner had been unable to clear another long throw by Craig McCabe. With the half hour gone, Longford had a shot which was deflected just wide of the post for a corner. Half then ended with Longford ahead after a 45 minutes with very few chances for either side and with both teams struggling in the difficult conditions. Longford 1-0 up at half-time.

Playing with the wind in the second half, Wexford lay siege onto the Longford goal for virtually the whole period, but yet didn't test Skinner on enough occasions. With four minutes gone, Youth's Eric Molloy shot over with his left when well placed and, a minute later, Spot Murphy picked up a yellow for a tackle. With 15 gone, Danny flashed a good header just wide. Wexford continued to get the ball into the Longford box mainly from Craig's long throws, but nothing really came from any of them as Longford double-marked the usual target of the tall Gary Delaney. With 20 minutes gone of the second period, Andy Mulligan came on in place of Eric Molloy and went wide left. Two further Longford yellows were then given for tackles and Danny Ledwith came on in place of Ryan Delaney. Danny got a free on target but it was easy for Skinner and, with a minute to go, Danny lifted the ball over Skinner and into the net but was ruled offside. Then, in injury time, a long ball found Josh O'Hanlon in space for Longford and he did well to finish past Graham Doyle for Longford's second goal and their only chance of the second half. 0-2 to Longford at full-time.

Best for Wexford were Jonny Bonner who bossed the midfield and was unrecognisable compared to last season, while Gary Delaney did well at the back and Spot Murphy worked hard up top. Where Wexford fell down, however, was in execution - crosses not beating the first man and ball given away a bit too easily. For Longford, Josh O'Hanlon looked impressive while their defence was pretty solid in face of the constant barrage by the home side, particularly in the second half. Crowd was 928, I'm told.
