Discuss the games as they come here. Decent game tonight V Limerick was happy with our attacking players but I can see the lack of width killing us defensively this season as Limeick picked us off with switch balls time after time in the first half tonight.
Really impressed with Dillon, Duffy and Josh and as for the young players Karl Chambers was excellent when he came on. Also clear to see Philip Gannon will be a star this season, so so classy on the ball, a young Kevin O'Connor in the making.
Roll on next home game

Had to leave halfway during second half. just left when we had made a huge amount of substitutions. who were the other subs that came on besides Ian Molloy?

A lot of under 19 players. Karl chambers (number 25) was very impressive for a young lad when he came on, keep an eye for him this season.

Finished 3-1 two goals from Kevin O'Connor and one from Kaleem Simon. A good work out and some encouraging displays from the young lads but it was overshadowed by the news that Rhys Gorman has broken his ankle playing tennis. That's a massive loss to us he'll probably be out for three months or so I'd say. Pat Flynn has only just returned to training.

As in football tennis at training? I was told he did it in training.

Not what I heard today from those who would know. I don't want to seem like I'm giving him sh*t or anything because it was clearly an accident and he's gutted by all accounts but I'm told it was on his own time.

No no not saying you are at all Longfordian but I asked Rhys himslef and he said he did it in training. Either way it's a disaster.

If that's what he's saying then fair enough. I'd be surprised if who I heard it from got it mixed up but either way he's going to be a big loss so hopefully he recovers as quickly as possible.

Well I know he's a big fan of tennis and wouldn't be surprised if that's how it happened!

Bad result no matter the team that finished the game.

it was a poor performance tonight. Rhys Gorman is a huge loss for us his influence was missed badly. I heard tonight that he will miss much of the season and it could be for five months.

Not sure where you heard that Marty but unless there's been a change since I spoke to him at the Athlone game he said he'd be out for around 4 weeks.
Missed the game tonight due to work, it was an experimental side so my question is how did the players who started and will start in Wexford play? That's more important. The likes of Mulhall, Haverty, Dillon and Sully for example?

If it's just a fracture rather than a full on break then he four-six weeks recovery sounds reasonable enough. I'd be surprised if he was back playing inside of two months though considering the missed training as well. Wasn't at the game last night and wasn't surprised to see us well beaten given the weakened side. The concern would be that we're a bit light on squad cover so the young lads may have to be called upon a fair bit.

It's a fracture and you are totally correct Longfordian the 4-5 week timescale would simply be recovery time, it could take him several weeks after that to get back up to speed fitness wise.

Rhys looks like a guy that takes care of himself so even allowing for 4_6 weeks and then getting back to full fitness I would expect to see him playing in some shape or form by mid April

one of the security lads said it to me at the match and I did say it could be up to five months! if he comes back way quicker then all the better!!but I think yer point on it though about Rhys!
