Got it. It's one of the most famous penalty misses over 90 mins, in recent European football history, considering the circumstances. Barcelona won the league for having a better head-to-head record against Coruna that season. Barcelona have only won the league twice since.

I do believe Galway and Monaghan that season was 8-0 to Galway..don't know the other one late 70s at a guess

Correct answer is while both have reached the quarter finals neither side has ever gone further.

Also acceptable would have been that some fans of both clubs have the ridiculous idea that they are one of Europe's top sides. :D :D

Your memory serves you correct.

Longfordian got the Galway answer. Monaghan turned up for the game 15 minutes before the kick-off time, as their coach was delayed in traffic. With no time for a pre match warm-up or a detailed team talk, the roof fell in. Galway won 8-0.

They wear white because they were formed by English touring side Corinthian-Casuals back in the early 1900s, and they wore an all white kit. Their all white kit was also adopted by a famous Spanish side in 1902!

He was the first person to play with an electronic band on him. It was coz he got an early release from jail (think it was drink driving or something) but he had to wear the tag as part of the terms of his early release. He got some stick off the Swindon fans from what I remember too.

Nobody got it. 1989 was the answer. The semis in the following year, saw Bray beat Derry 2-1 in Bray, and St. Francis beating Bohs 1-0 at Tolka.

Superhoops was right regarding the Euro question. Ireland went out in the first group stage, while Turkey won the tournament at the RDS. Ireland won the tournament 4 years later.
