Dundalk????

Bari, Italy. Awful game from what I remember, Red Star with that Milosevic bástard just played for pens.

You got both right. Dundalk were the only team to beat us in the league that season, 0:2 up there. We didn't mind too much, as we had already won the league, and we would have far more important things to worry about a few weeks later.

Bari was the city to host that European Cup final in 1991. It was one of the worst ever, as practically nothing happened until Red Star Belgrade (Prosinecki & co.) won on penalties against Chris Waddle's Marseille. Red Star played their home European Cup games in Austria the following season due to the Balkan war.

What English clubs did John Coady, and Mick Byrne join after playing for Rovers?
Which team did Liverpool beat in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup in 1989? (The match before Hillsborough)

Hull? Or maybe Brentford? Whichever one is nicknamed the Bees.

Actually, Hull are the Tigers I think, so Brentford.

Who (and when) was the last team to win the Champions League / European Cup with a squad made up of players only from their own association (ie no foreign players) ?

Spot on. In fact, all the Celtic players in the 1967 European Cup final were all born within 30 miles of Paradise. :)

Yeah i had it as Red Star in 91, as technically all of their players were Yugoslavs until around 1992. Then Yugoslavia was kicked out of UEFA, Denmark replaced them at short notice for Sweden/Euro 92 (they went on to win it).

Doubt it will happen again.

Name three countries who have changed their name since playing in the World Cup?

This does not include the likes of Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic, as they are technically different countries with different borders.

2 - No (USSR and Russia aren't the same country)
3 - Yes (now DR Congo)

One more to get...

Yugoslavia, now Serbia and Montenegro? Dunno if this fits, as the place has changed radically in size, etc.

Correct. When Yugoslavia split, there was still a country called Yugoslavia, which qualified for France '98. That's now called Serbia and Montenegro.

No it hasn't. There were two entities called Yugoslavia. When the old Yugoslavia broke up, new states were formed - Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia, Slovenia and Yugoslavia. This new Yugoslavia were in the '98 World Cup, and have now changed their name.

Not that hard! ;)

I asked that to a Liverpool fan a while ago, and after 5 clues, he still couldn't get it!! It was Brentford. Liverpool won at home 4-0.

Spot on mate. Would have been an all British final if there hadn't been some disgraceful reffing and very intimidating atmosphere at the secong leg in Rome. Dundee Utd won first leg 2-0 but went down 3-0 in the Olympic stadium

Great, in relation to my earlier question, it should have been who is the only player to have scored in two World Cup finals for two different countries. Sorry about that people.

Name the 2 Premiership players that have scored in the League this season that have the same letters and same number of letters in their surname but not the same name?

Just heard a good one on Today FM:- which Irish player has scored the most goals in the Englaish Premiership?
I don't know the answer, I'd hazard a guess at one of the Keane's.

Robbie Keane and Niall Quinn have both scored 58.
