well it has to be a french man cos they are only team to ahve won both european championships and world cup since the inception of the premiership . has to have played for arsenal blackburn or man united. can probably rule out blackburn therefore. has to have won the european cup which rules out the likes of pires vieira henry wiltord. god i dunno .

Yer man who put the question has said the correct answer is Anelka...but it isn't, which means there probably isn't one, so it looks like he just put a wrong question. So I wouldn't waste too much time trying to work that one out! :p

Apologies about that one. I'd been asked the question three times over xmas and apparently it was true. Just did some research there and Anelka only has the following:

Honours
2001 Confederations Cup winner (France)
2000 European Championship winner (France)
2000 Champions League winner (Real Madrid)
1998 Premiership Champions (Arsenal)
1998 FA Cup winner (Arsenal)

One more question to make up for that mistake

Name 13 Irish players whose surnames begin with "K"
3 Goalies and 10 outfield players.

Gary Kelly x2,
Alan Kelly
Jeff Kenna,
Alan Kernaghan,

Is that enough?

Dick Long

Beckenbauer
Ancellotti
Cryuff
and the forth lad.

Does Gary Kelly the goalkeeper exist?
Yep, Alan's brother (and Alan eile's son). Think he's playing in the Conference now. Never capped, only made the squad once. Can't remember what game, but there were a load of kids on the pitch at half-time, and they were all let charge at Kelly in nets. Saved a couple, then started messing, then just stopped and had a chat with a couple of the kids! Very funny!

Played for Bury and Oldham, started out with Newcastle back in the mid-80s.

German keeper Trautmann played with city from 1949-64
is one of their all-time top 5 appearance holders,
was voted Footballer of the Year and played out an
FA Cup Final with a broken neck:

I don't know the answer, I'd hazard a guess at one of the Keane's.

What about John Aldridge?
Did he ever play in the Premiership? Left Liverpool in '91 or so to play for Sociedad for two years, and then returned to join Tranmere in Division One.

Quinn sounds the best bet - scored a few for Man City and Sunderland, though not all in the Premiership...
