A sister of mine recently moved to Berlin, so I'm planning a trip there sometime this year. Would also like to take in a gig. Does anyone know of any website that list upcoming gigs, also any advice on sites to see would be great.

Thanks in advance

The official site is worth a look: https://www.berlin.de/en/events/

There is also Toytown (.de) which has a decent listing, plus this simple one from Timeout - http://www.timeout.com/berlin/en/music-and-nightlife/best-berlin-clubs-and-music-venues and visit berlin http://www.visitberlin.de/en/experience/events

If you want local groups, just check out street posters, the music scene there is a wee bit demented - lots of techno and noise, but there is a very decent rock scene there also. Not as good as Sarajevo, but still good. Enjoy!

I've finally got round to booking a flight for visit to Berlin. Heading over in November for 4 nights catching Dinosaur Jr and Wooden Shjips live whilst there.

Any recommendations on the essential sights to be seen? Also wouldn't mind catching a football game I've checked but no Bundesliga games that weekend due to internationals but does anyone know of other lower league Berlin based clubs that would have a home game the weekend of November 11th & 12th

Thanks in advance

Union Berlin (Robert Huth, Patrick Kohlmann :P) would have been a great shout but they're not playing as well cos of Intl matches like all 2.Bundesliga and 3.Liga teams. I the 3.Liga, Magdeburg and Rostock would have been your "nearest options".

Even the Regionalliga Nordost is off and they have games all over Berlin and Brandenburg and some other nearby towns that you could easily have hopped to the week before!

Ah well, I guess a bit of sight seeing and the two gigs will have to do. Cheers for the info anyway

No bother. I went down a gigantic rabbit hole looking at all that. There's a serious amount of football played in Germany. I know that's like saying that water is wet, but Jesus when you see the amount of divisions and fixtures it really hits home.

I'm heading to Koeln on August 26th and should be able to catch some game somewhere in the region. Hopefully at the Westfalenstadion though.
