The eircom League Cup Quarter-final against Derry City, originally scheduled for Sunday January 20th at the Brandywell, will now be played the day after the eircom League match against Division One promotion challengers, Finn Harps.

The decision was made by management at Waterford United given that the alternative option was a midweek visit to Derry, to be followed four days later with another trip northwards to Finn Park.

In order to avoid such a schedule it was agreed to revise the fixtures in this manner given that some players, such as Noel Hunt and Kelvin Flanagan, will be cup tied anyway for the Sunday match at the Brandywell.

“The Blues” will now stay overnight in Ballybofey and travel to Derry for the League Cup match on Sunday, January 27th at 3pm.

The match against Finn Harps will kick-off at Finn Park, Ballybofey at 7:30pm.

2 games in 2 days for Waterford?

Why don't they just give a bye to Derry as they ain't got a hope winning the 2nd game?
