Accomm is sorted for this match only.

The other two are a disaster. I reckon I'm getting the eurostar initially for this one.

Surely cheaper to fly from Dublin to Paris than to get Eurostar and flights to London?

There's every chance I'll be working in England for the summer.

But the flights from Dublin are mental.

80 pound sterling return on the Eurostar from London to Paris. Works out around 110 euro at the minute.

Flight from Dublin to London around 80 return.

Flight from Dublin to Paris return on Lufthansa Airlines was 181 euro last night when I checked, going Sunday returning Tuesday.

EDIT: Checked again. Direct flights doubled in price overnight. You can still go for 187 euro though if you fly via Frankfurt on the way there and Munich on the way back.....holy feck.

And here was me thinking you might reciprocate my 2012 generosity by offering me a share of your room. OK, I get it now.

Well sir I think the generosity reciprication is long implied. I didn't think I would have to say it. :P

Staying in a hostel though...

Possibly worth thinking about the Amsterdam route for this one. An awful lot of travel involved, but it's relatively cheap. A return train from Amsterdam to Paris (Just over 3 hours) costs in the region of €70. Return flights from Dublin to Amsterdam work out at the minute on Ryanair at €97. Hostels in Amsterdam are also cheap, so possibly worth a Sunday night in Amsterdam, off early to Paris on Monday and back to Amsterdam after the match before a flight home on Tuesday morning.

I was considering the Dam for the game in Lille but that's not happening now. I reckon therell be some epic road tripping ahead

A group of 8 of us planning Paris trip for Sweden game now via Amsterdam.

Per person, all in, including return flights, return train to Paris, accommodation for two nights (close to the airport), and match ticket at Cat 4, it's working out at €259.50.

Mighty fine bit of searching and bargain hunting if I do say so myself.

Champ de Mars is being used as the fan zone in Paris (http://en.parisinfo.com/discovering-paris/major-events/france-welcomes-the-uefa-euro-2016/follow-the-euro-in-paris/official-fan-zones)... it's going to be pretty spectacular!

Oh I don't doubt that. I look forward to 2020 quaffing champers on a lawn with you. Until then though, cheap wine and hostels are go.

One of the lads booked 9 cities before the draw was made, but we switched teh accom from the opulent south, for the seedy, dirty and dainty North of the city. Staying in a hotel with a pool and sauna to sweat out all the badness. we are getting it for 80 euro a night, all in with return and 4 nights accommodation. é259 euro all in. Grand bit of booking even if i do say so myself, given i didnt do any of it :D

All booked. Charleroi airport. €88 one way and see from there. Probably hire a car with my mates for the three games. I'll worry about the return flight later.

Just booked a direct flight with Aer Lingus from Cork to Paris CDG for 12th June (12:30) and it only cost €62. I feel like I've been tricked.

What's the price for flights out the following day, 13th, the day of the game, and what about the cost of getting back?

DeLorean
05/02/2016, 6:36 PM
That flight I booked went up to €332 a short time later!

Siberian - there's a flight for €46 the day of the game, Cork to Paris. It's a bit too tight for comfort though as it only gets you to the airport for 16:30. The stadium is that side of the city I believe as I passed it on the way to the airport before but any delay and you'd be fecked. Plus luggage, etc. As for getting back there are probably a million different ways you could do it, just have to suss out the best option for yourself by scanning the various routes. I'll be coming back from Bordeaux on the 20th.

I was going to recommend flying via Stockholm, Oslo or Copenhagen, because that's usually dirt cheap... but then I remembered that the other crowd are all doing that :)

Even Beauvais isn't cheap, throw in the €17 one way for the bus, hour and a bit for that to get basically to the outskirts of Paris and you'd be better getting a flight to London and the Eurostar for about €140 all in one way into the Gare Du Nord. 8 of us heading and that's what we're doing, going to worry about getting home in the future last minute depending how the group goes. We've Air BnB'd Paris and Bordeaux, got a lovely chateaux with a pool 15 mins outside Bordeax for 45 a night pp and a barge that sleeps 12 on the Seine for Paris! :D Lille is a write off, you'd nearly be better staying in Belgium. Anyone thinking of staying in Paris for the last match, kick off is 9 and last train back is about half 10!

That match is on at 3pm so we won't quite make it. Might keep an eye on the ticket situation for the Switzerland Romania game on the 15th though. We're heading to Lens for England Wales also but I'd imagine tickets for the would be pretty unlikely, I have applied for a few though as a neutral.

I'd take in Germany V the 6 counties on the 21st if I could get a ticket.

The closing date was the 1st February unfortunately. I just used a couple of other guys passport details (with their permission of course :D) as I had already used my own to apply for the Ireland games. I applied for restricted view tickets as that's what popped up when I selected Cat.3.

Think we can apply for the other games through the general portal next week. I'm definitely going to try and take in a few of the other games. Would love to see the French play in the Stade Veledrome!

Wheres a good meet up point in Paris for fans.
Was there 10 years ago for Brian Kerrs game but no real bar street, downtown location as such.

Any tips/ideas?

In 2004 there was a big crowd gathered around the Moulin Rouge area. Think the pub was called O'Sullivans.

Just booked Dublin to Paris via London for about €220 return and 3 nights in Paris

Last time a lot of Irish fans gathered under the Eiffel tower on match day. Will that be happening again?

The real fans on YBIG might.

I'd wager we'll be more civilised.

Hi , have had a change of plans so unfortunately can't go to the euros anymore but I have a ferry one way booked with Brittany ferries ,from cork to Roscoff for two people costing €184.50 overall .It leaves cork on Saturday June 11th @ 4pm and arrives in Roscoff on Sunday morning @ 7am. Just wondering would anyone like to take the booking ? It doesn't cost anything to amend the names on the booking online.
