you've never seen a fan selling chips/burgers/tea on the side of the road
Well I did see Macy on the motorway making a few quid for himself :D ..I suppose I probably have seen one. It's hard to imagine people stopping just to buy something from a van though, or maybe that's just me not trusting anybody selling things from a van, Longford will do that to ya

ffs, I'd be one of those that wouldn't even stop at one of those, let alone running one....
Actually I take that back, I would eat from one of those vans if I'm extremely drunk, in which case I'm hardly likely to be driving :)

There is also a van selling food on the Naas Rd just outside Johnstown that always has a load of trucks and hauilers stopped at it.

I believe somebody has approached the club looking to use Flancare as a base for one of these operations or something similar, they're talking about delivering orders to factories and building sites. Whether or not it'd be a success is open to debate but the club would get a rent out of it anyway
Saw on sky sports today that Charlton are running a fleet of buses up to 80 miles away from charlton,in a bid to get more people to their games.Sounds like a great idea and would be well suited to us.Theres plenty of people who'd love to go to town games but have no way of getting there.Buses could run from town, edgeworthstown, ballymahon, granard etc and also out to the surrounding counties such as leitrim, rosscommon and westmeath

honestly don't thinkits viable, when the same people won't get on a bus to an away game when they are laid on
might not be that crazy an idea, there's a marked difference in travelling away and just into longford (Flancare), if only these people might indulge in pints before, during and after a game. Even charge the equivilant to pay for a bus and people might use it as a taxi into or out of town, subsidise it for real supporters.
If it could be tied into the rural transport inititive, it might just be worth it. The club are going to have to lay on a bus into town to try and make the bar a success.
don't forget in all of this that you have to strike a balance in taking money at the gate and providing an atmosphere to which the crowd and players respond to equally.
