Sligo Rovers boss Don O'Riordan is confident that the Bit O'Red can challenge for eircom league First Division honours as the season enters the final third after tonight's game against Drogheda United at United Park.

"We are only six points off the top and one behind Drogheda, although if you look at the table we are in sixth spot".

"Last week's Cup win was important to us and in the quarter finals we have Shamrock Rovers, but we need to concentrate on the league for the next few games," he added.

Things are looking up for Sligo since the Dubliner took over but he'll not rest on his laurels. "Tonight is important for us as we travel to Drogheda who are one of the best sides in the Division. We are an attacking side and will go looking for the points. Drogheda's form has been strange lately with all those draws but we'll take nothing for granted."

Sligo expect to have Paul McTiernan fit while Drogheda have Declan O'Brien available and a win would put them top of the League.
