That is some seriously good news. Hall saved Limerick's bacon a good few times in the run-in, every chance he could be the best keeper in that division. And Tracy has been one of the best players for Limerick over the last few years.

If O'Sullivan and Russell can actually keep that squad together, it'll be quite the plaudit-worthy achievement. I'd worry about what's being offered in comparison to the kind of revenue you can expect from the First Division, but if the same form of the last third of the season can be replicated - and whose to say it can't, if the same squad is in place, as big an if as it is - Limerick would surely top the First Division.

Very encouraged by this, needed to happen a a year ago but hopefully a sign of the club copping on to a winning first team as being the key in this project from which all else can follow. Lets see who they can manage to hang on to from the others.

Great news.
If we somehow got duggan vinny clarke and turner on a contract we would be in a extremely strong situation early on for a change.

Probably wishful thinking to get all 4

Just heard duggan in talks with st pats

We have a back 4 in place already

Great to see quick movement. Even if some of the squad don't re-sign at least we know the club are making efforts.

Everyone from last season that we want to keep has been met and offered a deal according to one player I spoke to.

Yep credit where its due to em everything is being done brilliantly so far this off season.

If we get Duggan back now it would be massive he is far and way the most important of any of em after that I reckon people would be mixed on who is most important from the likes of Clarke,Turner, Vinny and Lee J.

I'd take Dave in a heartbeat. He has been starting for Galway though so not sure if that would come to pass. Have seen his parents in the markets field regularly enough though and it would close again to Cork.

Great to see Paul signed back on. I'd actually be very happy to see him at centre back next season based on a couple of his performances there. He can cover full back, centre half and mid with is very important.

How did ye find O'Leary when he was with ye lads?

Hard to know if we'll retain him or not. He was very hit and miss with us, very inconsistent. He's still young though so I'm not discounting him yet.

Ya was a bit hit and miss with us in his last season but he has a lot of good things about his game. The type of player that just needs to find the right position. Great attitude as well. Would be great to see him in a midfield with 2 of Duggan, lynch, O'Connor.

Apparently a three year deal, pursuant to the club getting promoted next season. Wonder what his wages are?

Probably high, but if signings like him help get us up and bring in a few hundred more people through the gate then it's worth every penny.

Wonderful stuff from the club to get him signed up and get it done so soon with some of the big boys after him is superb work. Eddie Hickey has a hue hand in it I am told so thats this one and Freddy Hall that Eddie was pivotal in top man.

Thoughts on gary shannahan and dave o leary signing from Galway?

Heard clarke going to rovers club trying there best to get him to stay and haven't quiet givin up on him yet but it will be tough to keep him I'm told.

Would be delighted to sign both the lads.

Clarke is on holidays so will be a while yet before we know if the club can hold onto him.

I'd be surprised if Tommy Dunne let Shanahan go as he has been an ever present in our team since Dunne took over. I know he's a Limerick lad and that but I think Tommy would like to keep him. Unless Limerick give him a better offer than we do.

In relation to potential investment, are there any details yet about what Pat mentioned at half time (I think in the Derry game) where he said something along the lines of potential investment in the club even if we were relegated and a 3 to 5 year plan and that details would be disclosed within approximately 1 month ? could he have meant investment in players which is what we are currently seeing or would it have to do with off field investment....

I reckon it's overall investment in the club, not just a specific area like players.

Ya no mention yet of it anyway. Surely something when the current business of signings dies down.

I reckon a few will. I think 3 or 4 are on holidays but returning soon. If we signed another 3 players before Christmas then it would be fantastic business done.

I didn't think we'd sign Vinny back as it didn't appear Tommy particularly rated him when he was with us. Tommy probably felt he needed to act though since Jake Keegan left us. Hope we can get the Vinny that ye had for the second half of the season.

Will all depend on the supply he gets. Turner, Clarke, Duggan and Lynch gave him great supply in fairness.

I dunno if it will be a huge loss tbh I love Vinny but as Jofspring has pointed out in answering another post a lot of what he did came down to great service.

A loss yes but not irreplaceable. Turner a bigger loss imo.

Mike aherne on the radio this morning said lee J is very close to resigning.
And also Limerick have approached Garbhan Coughlan now playing for regional united he has probably been best player in the league this season
