Shelbourne manager Pat Fenlon has placed centre half Kevin Doherty on the transfer list after the 24-year-old failed to win a regular place in the championship-winning side last season.

Very sad to see him go.
fully fit and on form Kev would walk into any team in the league, including ours. He's just rarely fully fit and when he does play is usually recovering from injury so isn't on top form. If he can stay injury free he'd be a superb signing for any team in the league.
Waterford United player/manager Alan Reynolds has commenced talks with Shelbourne’s transfer-listed defender Kevin Doherty.
Doherty was placed on the list by the Reds earlier this week, with manager Pat Fenlon insisting that the 24-year-old’s career could be better served elsewhere after rotten luck with injuries over the past two seasons.
That has alerted several eircom League clubs, with Waterford the first to open discussions with the former Liverpool and Ireland under-21 centre half.
Reynolds told the Irish Daily Mirror: “I had a brief chat with Kevin yesterday and will talk to him again. Ordinarily I would have finished my work by now but when a player of Kevin’s quality becomes available, you have to at least enquire.”
