Tickets on general sale on Thursday:
Aye just seen that earlier.
Have heard Dundalk have now sold their entire East stand allocation, most of their North and are on their second block of the West stand. Great news if true. Would assume that sales are going as well in Cork so could be a serious crowd at it.

One thing of note is that it has been tough for groups to get buses to run from pubs and the like. Bus companies from as far south as Athlone have booked out their fleets to run from Dundalk. There are a good few potential group bookings from scouts, Arch Club, Mens Shed and Pubs and the like finding it tough to organise transport for the groups. Could be to do with specific size of buses required so maybe so co-operation is needed to book a 52 seater say. Could Iarnrod Eireann increase the capacity of the train they are running to Landsdowne. €20 for a black and white check flag the size of a postage stamp i've seen on sale in town today too so people are cashing in (ripping off) on the interest!

News is very limited from Cork, but I expect that they are selling well. Given the geographic spread of Cork (county), I'd imagine a lot of their sales will be via Ticketmaster.
It's great that we will have big support in the North, East, and West stands.

Where you seeing that? I'd like to think that once the tickets go on general sale that we will see a lot more being sold for our end as a lot of people living away from the city might not have been able to get in to get them.

Excellent for those who want to sit in the middle of the Cork section.
Not so for neutrals or Dundalk fans unable to get to Oriel Park for tickets.
What is the point of paying for a report on the league if the FAI treats their "showpiece" with such distain?

The only tickets available online are two blocks in a corner, at the Cork end. On the same side as the TV cameras, incidentally. Did the FAI outsource the discouraging of ticket sales to Shamrock Rovers?

Its not the middle of the cork section though, they put more sections on sale as people buy theses ones. Tickets that aren't sold by the clubs will be onsale on ticketsmaster closer to the game.

Perish the thought that a decent crowd looking well on TV might happen at a final that doesnt include the FAI's Dublin darlings!

I've heard that so far there are 68 buses going from Dundalk along with the train and probably the same amount of people driving, pushing close to 10k at this stage. Just a pity the sales approach from the FAI is miles behind.

I have no doubt that Cork will bring a bit crowd. There are over half a million people in Co. Cork. North Louth is 10 times smaller, maybe 50,000 people?
Who knows if the 3,000 figure is correct. If it is, it could be down to a lot of factors and may not be representative of the final figure.
SK is expecting 30k at the Aviva according to this piece in yesterdays Scottish Sun.

STEPHEN KENNY. Remember him?
The unknown Irish boss pitched up at Dunfermline in 2006 and almost won the Scottish Cup before being sacked after 13 months.
It turns out the disappointing end to his Pars reign didn’t lead to the demise of his managerial career.
The domestic coverage of the LOI is so bad here for a second there I thought I was reading an Irish paper.

Yeah would like to think we will have a lot more than 3k up there. I can imagine there will be a spike in sales with the tickets going on ticketmaster now so maybe a lot of fans from outside the city being able to get tickets that maybe they couldn't when they were only on sale from the club shop

So - what'e the best bet for a neutral wanting to get to the game?
Will the FAI open more areas of the ground?
Anybody know about the 20 euro tickets?

I was told by someone who rang the FAI that they will going on sale on Ticketmaster on Tuesday.
You would be forgiven for thinking that the FAI want to keep the cup final a secret.

Dundalk have confirmed a second train to the Aviva. The first train sold out very quickly, and a second 1,000 capacity train has now been booked.
Fans were struggling to organise enough buses, nearly 100 are booked. Bus companies as far away as Belfast and Cavan have had bookings from Dundalk fans.

7,500 Tickets sold so far from the club.
I thought we would be doing well to hit 6/7000.
We should easily have 10,000 now.

Im kind of sick of phone calls from people who i'd previously tried to get to Dundalk games now desperate to get to the cup final. Just directed them to the club, not that hard to find in a town the size of Dundalk; We could have quite a few new faces at the game tonight so to get Cup Final tickets!

After being in two of the last 3 finals I'd love Pats to be in this next week. Nothing like it for a day out. Enjoy it Cork and Dundalk fans (obviously one lot of you will enjoy it more than the other :p)
Should be Dundalk to win it and take the double, but you never know. I've no real preference myself.
Stephen O'Donnell is a major doubt for the match, he went off injured in the first half v Bray. If he doesn't play, Shields will start the match.
With regards to non regulars attending, I don't have an issue with that, most clubs get something like 3.5 times their avg crowd at a final in terms of support. Also almost everyone I spoke to at our match last Friday were taking people who hadn't been this season. In our house it's usually just me going to watch Dundalk every week, on Sunday we have 4. That will be repeated all over the area and should see Dundalk get to around 10k, and fans living in the UK and beyond will swell it possibly even further. I'm sure most clubs making the cup final see similar trends.

Tickets going fast in Oriel Park. The club are now selling Upper East blocks.
And the FAI/ticketmaster are still just selling the worst seats in the house, in a corner of the Cork end, or premium level at 3 times the price.

Still plenty of good centrally placed seats in the lower West Stand available in Cork. A lad in college down there is getting quite a few for Dundalk fans. He sorted a mate of mine with 10.

Thing's really cranking up a gear down Leeside this week. Tickets selling very well. We should match Dundalk numbers wise at the game. Fair play to Dundalk for bringing huge numbers. On the game itself so much will depend on the Cork players attitude and how JC has them prepared. If they are not prepared right then we all know what Dundalk can do to teams. Anyway I hope both sets of fans enjoy the big day out,in the big smoke. May the best team win.

I knew they would. All this talk of 3,000 tickets was either premature or way off the mark.
I am hoping for a big crowd; 25,000 to 30,000, a carnival atmosphere, and a good game of football.

Building up nicely.
