If you're abroad you'll need a VPN and even then it probably won't work in my experience

Theres a really good RTE Sopcast stream if you have that? If you search for the ireland v germany match thread on reddit the links are there. It's too HD for my dodgy internet out in the sticks unfortunately :(

Not a bad first half from the Ireland B team, it also helps that Germany have been cráp so far.

Decent performance so far.

When we have the ball we've tried to play. Defended well as a unit and very few scares.

Houghton is bloody annoying on the co-commentary. Yes we know there is space out wide for Germany but it's intentional. They are less dangerous out there compared to potentially cutting us to ribbons through the middle.

I'll take that so far, Ireland well capable of shutting them out, but obvious worry they might not have the legs for it. Dissapointed a sub had to be used so early on Given.

Results as they stand would be wonderful.

Jesus I cant see it but two draws would be great. The Scots will be up for the 2nd half with their usual William Wallace Braveheart **** - what a ****ing hero.....lost the war and got hung drawn & quartered so let's hope the Poles don't settle for the draw. If we are to lose let it be the 46th minute and not the 96th!

It may be 5am in China now but **** me that was unbelievable. Granted the Germans had 2 chances they should have taken but what spirit from our guys. Delighted beyond belief. Haven't felt like this since 2002

Brilliant, the best since sept 2001. Exceptional for players like Ward and Keogh who have to step up 3 ladders to play at this level.
The 2nd half was as good a half as played by an Irish team ... ever.

Pity the Scots couldn't hold out for another 5 seconds

So are Poland ahead of us on tiebreakers? e.g. Do we still have to win on Sunday to finish second?

osarusan

Amazing stuff, amazing. We defended so well we never had to resort to backs against the wall stuff, and always hept an attacking presence to give ourselves breathing space at the back.

Hoolahan is such a key player. Always tries to hold on to it rather than hoof. Keep the ball, force the opposition to defend, create some pressure.

Germany really lacked urgency, never really tried to get into top gear I thought, just kept hoping one perfect pass would come off.

George Hamilton - 'It just gets better, Poland have equalised.' What a clown - a Scotland win would have been better for us than a draw.

McCarthy, Walters, Hendrick, Hoolahan, Brady and Long were immense.

Credit to Randolph too for coming on and playing so well under those circumstances.

A 2-2 on Sunday, at least, takes us to France.

It is worth nothing though. We're four days away from the three year anniversary of the 6-1 defeat. I know the Trap apologists are an endangered species at this point, but bloody hell, O'Neill's a score draw away from automatic qualification.

Don't even want to think about it. So much doubting of MON it's been rediculous. Watched it on ESPN and commentator pointed out that the biggest mistake was lining out too aggressively against Scotland which may be true. Just wish our boys could sustain that performance level...we'll see against Poland
