View Full Version : Worst case scenario Drogs hand Dundalk the title

As a dyed in the wool Drog I can see it happening.
Dundalk lose in Tallaght and still claim the title because we beat Cork.
I'd want the win, but it would be bittersweet if that happened.

I totally disagree! It will be perfectly sweet if Drogs give us a helping hand. Id even go as far as to say good luck and that the 3 points will be vital to you. The alternative is Dundalk winning the title at some point anyway and Drogs losing and heading for relegation and a then serious battle to keep paying the bills. So i'd reevaluate the worst case scenario tbh!

If I was a Drogheda fan I wouldn't care if winning would hand dundalk the league, ye are in a relegation battle after all and any win would be welcome. I for one hope dundalk stuff rovers and coupled with hopefully a win for us, would open a little gap in the race for second

Bittersweet my ass.

When we were fighting for our lives in 2012, I didn't care whether our results helped Drogheda or anyone else.

Crazy thinking. The league is won, the only open question is when. You should be only worried about your own team. Anyway you already helped us with 9 points this season :highfive:

That would be a bad scenario for us anyway.

Worst case scenario is surely you lose, continue to lose, get relegated, run into financially difficulty and fold.

This.
Couldn't care less if our result hands Dundalk the league, we need points.

Hey KeepersBall, stick a few quid on the Drogheda/Rovers double. The winnings from this unlikely double will help ease your pain

Then the FAI remove all trace of Drogheda United from the record books.

Then an ebola outbreak.

Then Cromwell turns up again and kills everyone not yet dead.

I got a good chuckle from this.

League titles are normally won over the 33 games of the season.

Worst case scenario is surely a nuclear bomb with the power of Tsar Bomba dropping on Drogheda, as I ran a simulation for here: (http://nuclearsecrecy.com/nukemap/?&kt=100000&lat=53.7135023&lng=-6.3511991&hob_opt=1&hob_psi=5&hob_ft=47553&casualties=1&ff=52&zm=8)

Sorry Dublin, you were collateral damage.

But WE ARE STAYING UP.

steady on, I think that would hand cork a league and cup double.

I've a horrible feeling that the only things unaffected in the nuclear wasteland would be the pitch and the away section in Oriel Park, and ten cockroaches and Tom Mc****ingNulty would stride forth to take home the trophies.
