County’s preseason campaign will kick off with the visit of the Premier Division Champions Shelbourne to Station Road on Friday night 12th. February.

The visit of Pat Fenlon’s Euro heroes is bound to bring a bumper attendance to Station Road and will be eagerly looked forward to by those suffering withdrawal symptoms during the closed season .
There will also be visits from Ireland’s other two European representatives Longford Town and Cork City, with whom negotiations are at an advanced stage, during what promises to be an exciting pre-season campaign. More information later.

Meanwhile manager John Ryan and his assistant Barry O’Connor will be interested spectators when The Kildare & District Football League take on the UCD Superleague in their final group B qualifying game in the Oscar Traynor Cup at Belfield on Sunday next 19th December at 2pm.

The management team have been impressed by the progress of several of the squad through the Kildare League and Eircom League under 21 campaigns and given the clubs stated intention of maximising the recruitment of local players it will not be surprising to see some more local faces on the squad for 2005.
