How do you check the posts from just that day?

You can get new posts since your past visit by clicking Tools > New Posts; or posts since yesterday by clicking Search > Advanced Search and choosing Yesterday in Find Posts From in Search Options. That'll return a thread listing by default, if you want just the posts, choose Posts in Show Results As.

How come if youre not logged in you can no longer access "todays posts" button?

You mean "New Posts"? Because it can only work out which posts are new by referring to a datestamp in your account, via your cookie.

No, there used to be a Todays Posts button as well. It disappeared a few months ago. Usefull if you were on different computer or not logged in.

That replaced New Posts in vB3, but no-one liked it (including me) so I switched it back. If people want it back I can try to figure it out and add it to the Tools menu, but I'd want more than one person asking, ok?

i suppose the "new posts" button is like an added feature for being a member as opposed to just a visitor to the site.
