How do young lads join CCFC? Are there trials, or do you have to be scouted?

you're put into you're own age group and they look at you in contrast to people your own age. i think the lower limit is like 14 or something, i dont think city do the schoolboy leagues.

Under 16's and 17's I think. That's the way it was about 4 or 5 years ago anyway.

if youre rich enough, then maybe you could buy a place on the city player list, like a team in england do now and then.......?

I believe $h€l£ did this for a friendly against Leicester? IMO, it looks really cheap and unprofessional of the club, for the sake of a grand or so.

the example i was using was an english team last season, who a supporter bought a name on the player register, but took no actuall part in any of the matches.
he got the oppertunity to have his name down in the teams page in the programe!

Reminds me of that sap in F1 a couple of years ago who was only allowed to drive cos his fan base in Japan was nuts about him and bought sh1tloads of F1 merchandise.

There used to be a story in 'Roy of the Rovers' called 'Millionaire Villa', I can even remember the guy's name - I think. David Shelby was this millionaire who was complete sh*** at football but was only willing to invest in the club as long as they let him play every week. Its a pity Roy of the Rovers is gone, it is a great laugh having a look at the old annuals every now and then
