That's what they say. Went twice last year, really enjoyed it, although it's hell on the ankles. All set to go again this year, big family outing, about ten of us in all. :)

might see ya out there, but i'll be keeping my distance, i wouldnt like an out of control head on collision with you!
i hope they've improved that catering aswell, it was shocking last year. you should be able to get some decent food out there if you're going to make a day of it.
What he fu^*?????
They putting animals on ice for public entertainment at Fota???? I didn't even know animals could skate!!!!! Sounds very sick to me.

might see ya out there, but i'll be keeping my distance, i wouldnt like an out of control head on collision with you!I used to be able to skate but these days I find myself clinging to the bannister most of the time, so not much chance of that. It's a real bummer cos I went skating in an olympic-sized arena on a school tour in Munich back in the day, and everyone thought I'd be falling around the place like a clumsy lump, but I was actually flying around the shop, doing that ssshhhy thing where you spit lumps of ice into everyone's eyes in a friendly fashion. Backwards an' everfing! Gone now though. :(
I had a tricky one last year, I got going a bit but lost my balance, and because I was quite close to the bannister I made a grab for it. Unfortunately that pushed me over the brink and I went down face first, still holding onto the bannister. Cue excruciating cracking noise from back area while I folded in two, the wrong way. No damage done though. Funniest thing has to be my youngfella forgetting how to skate the second time, after being a total whiz the first time. Poor guy, he was mortified. :)
It's a great way to meet chicks btw. You can grope and fondle like a good 'un and blame your lack of masculinity for the "accidental" maneuveres, and they actually respect your ability to admit your weaknesses. Heh.

Went for the first time this year and it was good fun to be honest. Bit shakey at first but grand after a while. Double the size ths year ??? it is just a small square, what was it like last year ..... had good fun going as fast as possible and ducking and diving in between people. Dont think you were meant to but no crashes so safe enough.
They were a couple of lads clapping hands behind people and laughing at the outcome, thought that was messy alright. All in all ... good fun.

Hey Adam, why can't we have snowflakes falling on foot.ie like this? (http://www.fotaonice.com/about.html)
You've had that smelly old santa hat on for years.
Even a few flashing lights would do.

I like understated. And if I hear one more word about it, I'll do up something like this (http://www.mperium.com/xmas/) and I won't remove it until February.

.... Who's Holly? ;)
Went to the open air ice rink at Somerset House, Laaandan. It was superb. Definately go again next year, maybe to Kew Gardens though.
Some of the monkleys in Fota made a break for freedom a while back, and made it onto the train to Cobh. My Dad woke up to find them sitting on a tree in his garden. Classic drunk double take "That's the last time I'm drinkin hard liqour'" moment. :)
