You break up with a girl, and you come across a track you can totally relate to... Can anyone add to this lot?

The Streets - Dry Your Eyes
Blur - No Distance Left to Run
Smashing Pumpkins - This Time (off Machina album)

No but I can certainly remove one

The Streets - Dry Your Eyes

That song is such sentimental drivel it isn't even funny.

At least most songs of that ilk can be laughed at for their hideous videos, Lionel Richie's "Hello" being a classic example as he looks like a lost puppy every time he says "Hello" and I nearly split my sides laughing when I saw it the other night. The attempts at acting and dialogue are also truly attrocious. I don't know the other two you mentioned so shan't pass judgement.

Fcuk You I Won't Do What You Tell Me - Rage Against The Machine.

On a more serious note probably Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

Single of the Year off the Album of the Year. And it's a top notch break-up song to boot. So there.

'Hold Me Now', Chicago.
If you're upset, a Chicago album will send you right over the edge...

The song is actually called " Hard to Say I'm Sorry"

Actually I thought "Tender" by Blur was a good one. Liked the Big O suggestions too, and Eamon as in I wish I had said that type of thing.

another goodie..." Little Does She Know" by the Kursaal Flyers :D

Little Does She Know

Little does she know that I know that she knows
That I know she's two-timin' me
Little does she know that I know that she knows
That I know she's cheatin' on me

I was outside the one stop
When I saw her in the corner
And I didn't like what I see

Little does she know that I know that she knows
That I know she's two-timin' me

She was sharing her spin dryer with a guy in a tie-dye
When she saw my reflection in the chrome
I knew that she'd seen me 'cause she dropped her bikini
The one that I got her in Rome

Little does she know that I know that she knows
That I know she's two-timin' me
Little does she know that I know that she knows
That I know she's cheatin' on me

When she finished her laundry she was all in a quandary
And made it for the street like a hare
Her escape was so urgent, she forgot her detergent
And dropped all her clean underwear

Little does she know that I know that she knows
That I know she's cheatin' on me

Yeah, but how the fook could anyone take it seriously after the gift grub version? :D

Mine would be I Hope I Don't Fall In Love With You - Tom Waits. The whole mood of the song - previous hurt, not wanting to go through it again etc.

Bit of a mad taste me but here's mine that I could think of (I'm sure there's loads more):

'Fallin' Alicia Keys

'Badhead' Blur

'Don't Speak' No Doubt

'Eye Hate U' Prince

'Mary Go Round' Musiq Soulchild

'When a woman's fed up' R. Kelly

'Slowly Surely' Jill Scott

Not strictly speaking a break up tune, but Limp Bizkit's "I'd Eat You Alive" is right on the money!

I will survive
Don't leave me this way
Tainted love

For that disco-y break-up.

Hmmmm, I didn't think 'women' were his preference...whatever happened his trial for sex with a minor anyway and how did he beat the rap?

I was actually thinking this sounded dodgy when I was writing it but it is a good tune and I'd like to think when he says woman he means WOMAN!!

I think he's still awaiting trial.

They should have saw this coming when he married Aaliyah on her 14 or 15th birthday - a very strange man but doesn't get the credit he deserves for his writing and production talent.

Hmmm, if you've seen my opinion on the Corrs, I'll just say that R Kelly is very close behind them. 'I Believe I Can Fly' makes me want to stab people...

I haven't seen you opinion on the corrs but I've no doubt your right, aren't you always! :D

I think if you took individual taste out of the equation you could see things objectively :)

e.g. Wayne Rooney is an excellent player but I hate the cheating little scally wag! :D

Ah, but there's no objectivety when it comes to music. I hear Pavarotti can belt out a tune, but I won't be rushing out and buying...

Nobody mentioned buying  - I said if you take personal taste away you can be objective about talent.

i.e. Pavarotti is an amazing opera singer but not something I could personally listen too but I appreciate his talent.

Have a look back at where I mentioned R. Kelly's 'writing and production TALENT!'
