Duff, McPhail, Fahey, Brennan, O'Connor all out of action for SR tomorrow night while we have some really positive team news bar the suspension of Salmo of course.
The suspension of Salmo throws up a real dilemma for TC, does he move Rhys in there or keep him at CB and give someone else a chance (perhaps the new lad from West Brom?) personally I think Gorman has developed into a really good Centre half and should stay there for the stability of the team.
Few people asking whether or not we should rotate the squad for Monday's game, personally I can't see why the likes of Aymen, Jamie, Rhys etc can't play 3 games in a week but I would like to see some care taken with the likes of Rice and Kevin O'Connor so maybe take them off after an hour if at all possible.
These next week is absolutely massive for the club and what we need more than anything is the support of the fans so let's get everyone out to CCS tomorrow night and make one hell of a noise! Cmon De Town.

I'm not too disappointed after that. We gifted them 3 goals that's my only concern. Deady put in one of the worse performances I've ever seen in a red and black shirt and simply can't start on Monday but that leaves us with the dilemma of moving Powell back there and then the whole back 4 is broken up, again it makes you wonder why Willie Tyrell (no matter your view on him) was let go as we literally have no other options at left back in the squad.
We created enough chances tonight to leave me positive ahead of Monday night. Shannon, Ben Mohamed, Rhys and Kev were all brilliant again tonight, now let's get 3 points Monday!

It's a bit concerning when Danny North is outpacing both your centre backs but we don't have much in the way of alternatives at the moment as mentioned above. Not too bad a performance really the lads gave it everything they had so can't fault them for that. Kev O'Connor has been excellent whenever I've seen him this season. Bit of an unsung hero.

I should have said we'd lose 6-0 like against Dundalk 🙈

Agree with you but in fairness even with our natural centre backs playing there we have never had pace in that area. Rhys Gorman has been superb since slotting In there and should stay in that position for the rest of the season with Flynn eventually alongside him. Pat Sullivan was ok last night but again you'd like to see more passion from him as for Martin Deady he simply can't play on Monday even if it means rejigging the entire back 4 by moving Pat inside and playing Jamie right full.
Totally agree with you on Kev he is excellent

Yeah Rhys played well even last night but he's not particularly quick unfortunately. It'd be less of an issue if we had a pacier defender alongside him.

I think that's a bit harsh on Gorman, he seems to be learning all the time, and it's his first season at this level, and is playing out of position
he might not be a sprinter but he can sure shift over a long distance, how many times has he been up for a free or corner and when we are hit on the counter attack he is first man back to defend so if he isn't particularly quick what does that say about the rest of the team
I don't know number 21 last nights name but I thought he got better as the game went on, he hardly got a pass all night, then he was taken off,
I'd like to see him, Gorman and Salmon start in midfield for the cup match, with Gorman in front of the back four
as for Pat Sullivan (I might be wrong but) won't he be suspended again for yellow cards on Monday night

But what I'm saying is we have no quick centre halfs in the squad so Rhys shouldn't be moved out of the team because that's not his fault it's cousins fault for not signing a pacey centre half in the window. Is that right what darklordsblane is saying that Pat Sully is suspended for Monday? Himself and Rice should be made pay the fine for their stupid yellow cards for dissent it's happening every week and it's childish carry on.

Biggest game of the season tomorrow night and thankfully we have a bus running to get behind the lads for this must win game. Check Facebook and Twitter for details as usual 👍👍

I wasn't suggesting taking him out. Just saying it's an issue. Which should have been addressed I agree. Sullivan is suspended for Monday yeah, 8 yellow cards. Tomorrow night is going to be tough I'm not very confident about it. I think our best approach could be to go and attack them.

They play a 4141 which means we can't play 442 or Wel be outnumbered in the middle, however whenever cousins plays 451 it's not a keep the ball 451 but a hoof the ball at gary shaw 451 and if we don't that tomorrow Limerick will hammer us I've no doubt. Massive night for cousins as much as anyone else, show us something different tony

I predict a loss in Limerick, Donegal, a draw in Galway and defeat at home to Bray and finish the season off with a long line of defeats sending us packing our bags for Cabinteely, Cobh and the likes next season.

Limerick play 4-3-3, not 4-1-4-1, almost everything comes from the wings, Clarke will ****ing destroy us on current form as will Faherty.
The three mids stay close together and work hard, they're more mobile than ours and are good at getting the ball moving, don't give the greatest protection for the defense thou, even when someone sits deep. Prince was on the bench at Cork, so he'll be around the team but probably won't feature yet. From what I remember of him last year, he's got a lot of potential to be a tremendous player by LOI standards at least.
They have a lad playing center back (Kanyuka) who is slower than anyone in our team, but solid otherwise, Get sully running at him and we'd get some purchase, but I assume Sully won't start(?) He won't have any problems with Shaw, he's an absolute thunderbasterd of a man. Ayman will be able to get at them as well.
Their new keeper is far better than the old one, has even played a few matches in the MLS in the past, He's 30 odd so has plenty experience, still a bit dodgy, but very good shot stopper, so everything the keeper at the start of the season wasn't.
To sum it up, they're absolutely cat in defense but have a few stronger links now than they used to, which means they won't give up quite as many stupid goals. They're very good at counter attacking teams.
There should be plenty of goals in this, I'm not confident. But I'll wager a 2-2 draw, then a win next weekend, before we probably lose to Bray. Then we hit the panic stations. If we do manage to pox a win tomorrow we're as good as safe IMO, if not it's going to be a bumpy ride to the finish line..

Can't see Kanyuka coming back into the team O'Connor and Williams were very good against Cork even though we conceded 2. Shaun Kelly will be back at right back too so id imagine Paul O Conor will go back to the middle with Prince coming off the bench as he did in Cork.

Alright I was told they lined up 4-1-4-1 against cork? But if they play 433 usually then we could go 442 but the wingers will have to tuck in real tight when we don't have the ball and the full backs will have to be mobile so Mulhal has to start.

Firstly, an entertaining game last night in front of a big home crowd. It was far removed from the bores we usually see at the CCS, and largely it was down to two poor defences being on show. Also, the bigger pitch in Limerick lent itself to a good open game. Our narrow pitch (made narrower since the start of the season) often results in congestion and little flowing play.
Anyway, we got away with a point when we were there for the taking. Limerick might well rue those points lost come October. First 30 mins were a shambles, so going in level at the break was a sign that our luck was in. Salmon left in acres of space for his goal after a good header on by Shaw. 2nd half and Limerick were on top again with some great chances, although Shaw missed a good one-on-one (that’s 23 matches without a goal now). Kelly coming on brought much needed urgency. He was roaring at Powell to ensure that he took the free (and not Salmon) that led to Rice’s header. Kaleem could have even won it at the very end.
Hunt made a couple of good saves and centre mid put in a great shift, but overall we were run ragged. ABM didn’t look happy coming off before the hour but his race was run. His lack of physicality, especially against the full-time teams, is costing us and he often gives up possession too easily. All the players/management (except Rice, of course) came over to acknowledge the away fans at the end.
I’d imagine a few changes will be made for Saturday, although Kelly and Doherty are cup-tied. Hopefully Flynn will get some game time ahead of him starting against an in-form Bray. We badly need him back.

Toss up between Gorman and Shaw for me neither were brilliant but at least they worked for the team for 90+ minutes not like most of the others who were missing for large parts of the game, that's my tuppence worth anyway
no point in going into detail you have read it all before

Kevin O'Connor was our best player with Dean Kelly making the most impact in his 15 minute spell or so. He has to start games now if fully fit, fantastic player who will get a red card or two with some of his challenges but at times last night I would have loved to see our lads put a few tackles in the likes of Powell pulling out every week for not even 50/50 balls but 70/30 balls just makes you sick as a supporter

He has played a couple of time at centre half and is much better there, not saying he is any good just better there than at left full, he wouldn't be in my squad if I were manager but Cousins seems to love him, he is captain now when Salmon isn't on the pitch, mad
Having said all that he will probably score the winner today in Buncrana
