This thread is for anyone with ideas for flags/banners. Also for people who may already have one but don't get to many games. Also for anyone who'd invest in one but isn't in the SC. For a few hundred €uro you could get a good banner done professionally with a crest or logo on it. With a few fans chipping in it's much less than a night on the beer and wont make you unproductive the next day.
Neil Mulvey is a Bohs fan with some great flags and banners and he said that the place in Dublin that did on for him even provided the material.
Are the club colours GREEN WHITE and RED or RED WHITE and GREEN

I have a strip of red material for the past few months. It's 20 feet by 4 feet (cost £16 in Hickeys). I got it stitched at a cost of £12. I was intending getting 'REBELS' printed on it, but it aint easy to get that done (AFA I've found).

Alternatively, I would be willing to donate the red strip to a group who were willing to invest in a Green strip and a White strip of the same dimensions. It would cost about €40 and maybe another €20 to get it stitched together (unless someone's mother would do it!).

We could get something printed on it ('REBELS' or 'Shed End' or 'CCFC' at a cost of maybe €30) and hang it at the back of the Shed.

Total cost maybe €90. Would 9 people to throw a tenner?

Peadar, would you be able to enquire from Neil Mulvey about the cost of printing 'Shed End' in black on a 20x20 foot banner? I'll e-mail FourFiveOne asking if they'd throw a few bob.

I spoke at lenght with Neil Mulvey before and we're talking €100's to get a professional print job done. Writing letters on material is fine because you can cut out letter stencils and spray paint over them but I hope to get a huge flag with a full colour crest like the way it is on the jerseys only printed not embroidered.

What a cool site.
How come I wasn't told of this before.
It's a little boys dream store and a big boys reality store online.
Pity we're out of the cup.
Get the floodlights in so that we can have evening games and make the flares and smoke be extra effective.

Would I be correct in thinking its a bit tricky getting stuff from tifo? I heard you needed a business address or something as its possibly a trade only site?

p.s. I want a diesel generator & smoke machine.

Ok the prices for the poles are as follows:
TELESCOPIC FLAGPOLES Q1 6.5 = Euro 67.14 x 1
TELESCOPIC FLAGPOLES Q2 5.5 = Euro 54.23 x 1

I still maintain that you can get a few metres of duct pipe at a DIY store or electrical suppliers for a lot less and although it may not be telescopic it could still be just as effective.

That shouldn't be a problem.
If we're stuck we can address it to 451 Publications Inc. :D

Gotta be one of the coolest websites around. I never really thought about how all those banners and flags got made.

Lads,

tifo.net is where we got the flares and smoke that were seen at the Rovers and Derry games. FourFiveOne now has an account with TIFO, so I guess orders could be made through us if needs be.

Also, as regards the giant banner: We would be willing to throw a few quid if someone comes up with a proper plan.

Cheers...

Maybe fourfiveone could have a section in the fanzine to what they bought so far with the proceeds?

Its not an issue (no pun intended) for me but might encourage more people to buy a copy?

Would someone not have to buy a copy first before they could read what's in it?

Getting back to the flags an banners............................ I was looking at that website , very good. But I'll tell ye If bobs are to be spent on somthing like that it should be done right. I've experienced buying banners before, and the best you can get are ones made up by a sailmaking company, lets face it they have to be hardwearing and last the course. The last one we got made cost almost double other prices we got, but the feckin thing is still going strong after 8 years, and it gets an outing every week, rain or sun. Just cos the supporters club are buying one don't mean us nomads can't chip in for wan too.......cover that feckin eyesore of an exit, and I know a fella who'll keep it during the week not 200 meters from the +. All we want then is a few bodies to erect it before the match.

Yeah. I saw that in Midleton at the Super Cup game. It's a good one alright. So how did he get the 'Times' font done? Is it painted on or sewed material?

Why not Paint SHED-END on to the back wall of the shed or something like CCFC? Twould be very easy to do, MFA would probally wet thier pants with annoyance though.......

What about the foot.ie banners, they look pretty dacent. Somthing with city or sheddies on tour on em' wouldn't look too bad either. String them along the front of the shed, like at the Derry game, they'd look better than advertising banners which should be on the sidelines anyway (just a wee gripe foot.ie  ) but they certainly add colour and they can't cost that much.

just to clarify, it's a City supporter who owns those foot.ie banners, not foot.ie itself

Apologies................................ but I still think advertising is advertising and should be kept seperate from the supporters. Could you price them with City slogans on them?
