Killeaney vs Broadford DRAW
Broadford must be fit if they are playing two games on sunday haha. Joking, how come you went against rovers, rathkeale and broadford? Have those teams gone back from last year? Have NCW moved on from their troubles last year? Are abbey still as strong as last year? Is Ray lynch back at broadford so since he scored against rovers the weekend?

The Broadford boys will be fit from the football all summer ha, meant Shannonside there! Rovers 3:1 against a Broadford side that has lost players and sexy football was spot on when he said they now have a young team. NCW have signed good players notably Shaka up front (former Broadford). I am sure himself and Quaid will score at least a goal each against a rovers defence that couldn't contain 10 men Ballingarry for almost 85 minutes.
Rathkeale are mostly B's and I would think it will take those players at least until October to get up to speed with the premier. Ballingarry were missing key players for both games last weekend and if they have them back I would think they should get past a Rathkeale side that is no where near the team they had in the first half of last season. Abbey had a fine pre season and have brought up some of the youth who also won the treble last year which will only add to the squad they had last year which makes every player fighting for a place. Early days yet but I can't see ANY team keeping up with them and the league will probably be over by January.
Lynch is his own rumour mill. One minute he is with Ballingarry, next Charleville and now back to Broadford. He scored the other night so one can only presume he is back (for now).
I do think the Newcastle Derby will be a good game but I think NCW after there demolition of Ballingarry last week should have them flying high and see past Rovers. The loss of Cussen and AJ for Rovers is a big negative for them if they want to keep up with Abbey.

Where is AJ O Connor playing? I thought he was staying with rovers? Were you at the ballingarry matches the weekend sportsfanatic? They must have been poor against NCW on friday conceding 6 goals or were NCW that good? I guess they were unluckly against rovers losing 3-2 and playing with 10 men for most of the game

He played last Thursday with Fairview. Wasn't at NCW game but heard NCW were very good especially Shaka and Quaid. It was 3:0 at half time. Own goal and two bad mistakes by Ballingarry defence, and 3:0 down at half time is pretty demoralising for any team to come back from.
Was at the Rovers game as I would make as many Rovers games as I can. Rovers were very lucky, thought Ballingarry controlled the entire game even with 10 men. They were 2:0 down at half time and to be honest should have been winning as rover had two chances and scored from them. Ballingarry should of had atleast 2 in the first half. They looked very fit and that's why they were in the game with only 10 men. Frank tipped them to be third this year and rovers to be second both teams would relish a win this Sunday.

Lets hope the Newcastle derby is good because those games are quite good.
Anyone know what Kildimos pitch is like? Usually terrible during the winter or when theres a bad forecast during a weekend?

I would expect ncw rovers to comfortably account for ncw on Sunday and then go on to push abbey very close this season. Quaid aside I couldn't see many of ncw players getting into the rovers team at the moment

I dont think NCW are not that bad the way youre making them out to be, as sportsfanatic mentioned that Rovers barely beat 10 men ballingarry 3-2 while NCW put 6 past ballingarry. You cant see many ncw players getting into the rovers team? Well you definitely are a rovers member then haha. I would have quite a few ncw players starting for rovers. If u combined both teams together, this is the team id pick
Ruddle, Shanahan, O keeffe, D Woods, Van M, S Stack, T Quaid, S Cronin, M Quilligan, S Joyce and that shaka guy

I'm from ncw and go to watch both rovers and afc. Don't think there will be much between them. Afc have made a few good signing in Liam shaughnessy but rovers also have Jason Brouder and Cian Sheehan back. Two big additions also. I wouldn't read much into the two Ballingarry games. Afc won handy really exposed their weakness and rovers missed a penalty in first half against them and conceded the 2 in the last 5 mins. Was at that game sportsfanatic. Saying Ballingarry controlled it is pushing it a bit. Hard to call ncw derby no matter how strong or weak teams are.

Wouldn't have any affiliation to a club fanfanatic, but I'd watch both the Ncw teams more just cause it is handy for me. I could not name all the players from either team but rovers left back (red hair) and right winger impressed me on Friday night.
B'ford will give abbey a good game aswell I'd say better able to judge them then. Could be 2 big defeats for broadford.
2 home wins for me

I agree 443. I dont think there will be much between them either. Derby games or big rivalry game as always close games to call. Usually one goal between winning games. Shaughnessy was a good player with broadford so is a good signing for ncw. Jason brouder was a good player too but havent seen him play since he broke his leg,

Shannonside 0-0 Glin
Glin 2-3 Killeaney
A disastrous start to the season picking up only 1 point off 2 of the weakest teams in the division. Especially disappointing last night to lose to our old rivals at home. They went up 2 nil, we equalised in the 92nd minute but they scored the winner straight from the kick-off. Think the ref should have blown it up after we'd equalised. The most disappointing thing was that we seem to have left behind last year's style of play and have turned into a long ball team, could be a long season ahead. Think I'll focus on the B's

The season is back in full swing! Just catching up on the new thread there - few wondering about AK and the last poster was correct underage it is both Adare/Kilcornan at Junior level Adare maintained their team.
They haven't had to wait long, they play in Kilcornan Friday at 6.45
Anyone know about the NCW Rovers B team? See they'd a good win at home to Creeves last week and were promoted last year.

I go to see some of the best games in the premier or which ever is closer to me. The right winger for rovers is shane stack, a nice tidy little player. The red haired left back is probably is it michael madden or something. I see in the observer that new rovers signing cillian o conner only got 45mins in the first game and didnt get any run in the second game. I think abbeyfeale will be too strong for broadford to be honest. Its hard to see Abbeyfeale dropping alot of points this season

Askeaton have the same squad that got promoted last season but are struggling with numbers they had 8 players not available last weekend due to work and injuries and football. They played more B team players than A team, I think they will struggle this season they will probably be to far back when they get their full squad together, Rathkeale B

Good wins for Breska and Pallas this weekend, but another loss for Askeaton and Rockhill. I would have believed Rockhill would have a strong team this year after coming down from premier but if I'm right haven't won a game yet this year did they lose many players ? Also I heard there was a bit of controversy at the Rockhill and Breska match anyone know what happened

Rockhill weren't premier last season. Carrig and Athea came down. One thing that's very noticeable looking down through the divisions is the amount of goals being scored/conceded. A lot of high scoring games. The art of defending has died I reckon

Oh sorry was i just knew the were premier a year or two ago. Defending isn't dead players are just more clinicaland accurate especially from dead ball, I know some defenders are nervous to make a challenge around area due to this

A lot of goals in some games due to teams barely putting out teams due to Gaa . Rockhill a good example with most of their team hurling with Bruree.
Ballysteen another good example

Surprising result the weekend with Abbeyfeale drawing with Killeaney, especially if they held a 2 goal lead... Anyone at the game?
See NCW lost to Shannonside (who got their first win of the season) I imagine 'WestFest' may have had an influence on that result!!
Also whats happened to Ballingarry? Hammered at home by Kildimo & now pointless at the bottom of the league.

I dunno about that SixPack, can't say it's theirs to lose after only 4 games... Sure if they played Abbeyfeale this weekend and lost they'd be behind them again, early days yet but good results for them alright.
Ballingarry & Abbeyfeale the only Premier game due to the Munster Junior Fixtures (Why aren't Abbeyfeale playing Rathkeale in the MJC fixture?).
