1. Save me a copy of that DVD.

2. This is home. Limited number of town fans on the web and if your to have a home from home, try a format which is an improvement on the current one, not a replica. Should just link to here.

3. You better hope all the Karma around the city forum doesn't materialise because you might as well hang your head now.

4. Is this cos Adam told you to cop yourself on?

I admire the fact that LTFC didn't go down the route of a message board on the official site because I don't agree with it. I'm not being down on you either  , tis no harm. Just don't think there's any point in dividing a small online community. If the club have an ulterior motive then that's ok but as far as I have experianced, they have done bugger all to refute stuff here and have asked that corrections occur in pubs and such like.

Anyway, I'm growing to old for this message board lark, it's getting childish at times and it aint anon anymore, not that I have anything to hide but still, judging by how some folk nod when they meet my sorry ass they know where I stand on things. this wrecks my head.

So it's an unofficial - official message board.

something like that :D

as i said i like it here, even if i do step on toes ( its all a bit of fun ;) )and have no desire to see town fans leaving this site, but the other one is our own.

Pats had an official MB but removed it (rightly IMO). MBs by definition are places for rumours, idle chat and people taking the **** out each other. None of these have aplace on an official site and I reckon it'd make the club look pretty amateurish...

What wuld happen if somebody posted a message criticising a board member, would it be taken off?

Well I'm happy enough here - I don't think we have the numbers on line to justify our own mb. Also we came here at a time when there was an official message board and guestbook, but there were so many w@nkers on it that the decision was made to move and the club subsequently closed it down. Interesting to note that the bogball site had the same problems and closed their mb, particularly when it became the official bogball site for the county.

Nothing personal, I just don't think an official site is the place for a mb.....

btw Max, see the "Whats up with Vinny" thread as to exactly why several of us feel that we shouldn't have an official message board. Rumours, counter rumours, the manager getting shíte....

ok i know there is good and bad, but i was prepared for this...

that is why the forum is on one f and not the offical site, i was talkin to a member of the board and we were talking bout moving forward in a number of areas and this is just one.....

i'm meeting with the chairman either at the weekend or early next week so any ideas u have let me know, the 500 club, I WANT TO GET THIS GOING, we can, so macy, u still interested ??????

macy, ur right bout the thread in question, but we take the good with the bad, one problem with the old message board was the fact that language was used and it could not be mod....ours can, we have 2 mods and if a mod from here wants to come across they are very welcome as they know the runnin of things.

its not a closed shop, or a ME project.....judgin by the dvd orders, which was just advertised here, the community is growing and we need to strike while the iron is hot, so to speak, also in the closed season we can iron out any problems so that its all ok for the start of the season.

i have a few things in mind, jersey give aways, dvd give aways, question and answer sessions with members of the board and players. cause as xlex said we need a point of access to our board so its in black and white and not rumours.

ok, rant almost over and i know it will take a while, but i hope the forum takes off as i have a lot pf ideas i want to move forward on for next season, for the forum and web site/s ( don't ask ) and i'd like if we could all do it together ( opn both forums )

now.......group hug :D

I just don't think an official site is the place for a mb.Having actually run a forum on an official site, which was a nightmare at times, I totally agree with you.

ok, i've had serious problems with it, its all new to me and i'm trying to learn as i go on........

i'm focusin on the dvd at the mo ( has to be ready for the weekend ) so i didn't put as much time into it as i should.......sorry and it should be ok, the $hit stirrers can say what they want , there will be around most of the time so they will get bored after a while.......

Don't know if i'm staying 'on topic' here but I have to agree with Bosco's statement here. Many of the new members who frequent the Longford Town section do nothing but post rubbish for fun. There's very little constructive input from them at all. Nice to see the site take off the way it has been but i hope it doesn't turn out like that old one on the official town site. That was a total disaster. Is the same thing happening on other sections (i only ever really get to properly check out the town section and some of the more eye-catching 'new posts' on the others)?

actually i was referring to foot.ie in the last post. I meant there are a fair few new signings on this MB ****ing about and posting rubbish all over the place. There is a decent argument going in a thread and then some dikhead posts something provocative (and clearly a wind-up) and the whole thread gets sidetracked. Everyone has to wade through this crap to get to the proper posts then. I mean even when they know it's rubbish and post it in the rubbish forum, it's still total tripe, undeserving of a post ANYWHERE. FFS, they seem to be adults as well so i dont get where the immaturity is coming from.

Have to agree Magoo. The mods should take a stronger stance against trolling in this forum.

I try to do my best.

You end up looking the worst in the world for telling people to stop talking crap.

If people could just stick to football talk on this forum.

And as always, attack the post and not the poster!
