Anyone heard any news at all? Apparently Drogheda are snooping around, and I reckon Seán Finn's going to leave, but apart from that, not a word... And I was even talking to Maccer last week and he wasn't saying anything! Contracts are getting discussed this week I think? Players getting one week to themselves after the season and then contract talks...

Well who's likely to leave of our first team?
Quigley - Very unlikely I'd say.
Robbie Mac - If he was going to go, he would have last year. Unlikely.
Kenna - Can't see him going, don't think he'd be mapped by premier teams.
McNally - Possible.
Mahon - Unlikely.
Micko - Very unlikely.
Tony Mac - Very unlikely.
Finn - Really hope he stays but I can see him leaving.
Sully - Possible.
Willie Doyle - Has signed up for a scholarship next year apparently so I assume he's staying.
Robbie Martin - Unlikely.
Batman - Hard to tell, I believe he was only on loan this year. I'd say he'll stay.

Worst case scenario, we lose a centre back, right winger and centre midfielder. Gannon is a ready-made replacement for Sully if he goes. If Sully stays, he can play in the middle instead of Finn with Gannon on the right. That leaves us short a centre back and centre midfielder at worst (a pacey left winger would a good addition too). That's a fairly decent set-up before any new players or ones in from the under 21s.

Aye, that's pretty much right, I'd say. Sully and Finn are the two biggest doubts. Gannon is a natural replacement for either, but we wouldn't want to lose both. Suppose Gary Dicker might be able to take Finn's place? Still got Gary Dicker, Paul Byrne, Damien Kelly, etc. to come through, plus whoever we sign in close season.

Don't know if no news is good or bad though! This time last year, we were already four or five players down - at least we knew where we stood!

The big difference between the season before last and the season just gone is that you had just been relagated and a few boys decided to jump ship. Can't see that happening this season thou after being promoted. UCD have the base of a very good side, some excellent players and with a few new heads on board UCD will defo stay up (hopefully along with us :D )

No not really, just like the way they play footie, a mate used to play for them as well and still go to see them play when i can as well so have a bit of a "soft" spot for them, and with them being our nearest eL club its good to keep an eye out for them

Kind of right, though we lost mostly Doolin-signed players who weren't good enough anyway - very few first teamers. My point was more that I know the contract talks were held last week or so, yet still no news. Which is annoying me! :p

Well the big change from last year is that we don't have to go looking as much for replacements as we have depth now as opposed to last year. Is go-Anto go-Anto go-Anto Murphy staying?

What are you spouting?!?! Sure don't you know Doolin left the club in a great condition when he departed?! :D

You mean Robin? Hope not. Good player - would keep him for that reason alone - but remember there are away fans in the Premier. How long would you last at a UCD-Bohs game singing that chant? :D

I think he'll be in danger from home fans if he starts that again.
