The season is in full swing now so it would be interesting to see your comments on the new players for Liverpool we have been privy to, now that we have had a significant amount of time to consider their worth as players.

Pool
Luis Garcia - I don't think he's great, he works hard but is too lightweight too easy to dispossess and loses it himself often enough due to bad passing and taking up bad positions, hot'n'cold inconsistent player, misses a few sitters and then can bang one in from 30 yards, easy to get through, Useless. Set piece deliveries are as useful as an odourless fart.
Josemi - Started well but has been shown up recentle. Aggressive, direct player who gives away a lot of fouls and is often caught out of position, fast but stupid, assigning him and Garcia to protect a flank is like assigning Gerry Adams to protect the crown jewels.
Xabi Alonso - Very promising player, great passer, great vision and workrate, can play a holding dictating role effectively for any team and comes forward when appropriate, still young and looks the most likely success. Must work on set-piece delivery, God forbid if Garcia is assigned set-pieces again, Garcia seems more intent on picking out his mates in Catalonia with a free or corner than he does a Liverpool forehead, enough about that f*ck-up of a winger anyway!
Djibril Cisse - Came with a reputation but did not deliver, never involved himself enough, has to take more responsibility in showing and looking for the ball, didn't unduly trouble any centre-halves I saw him up against, suffice to say he can do a lot better and hopefully he will but it's hard to see him getting back to his best with a prosthetic limb.

Liverpool have had their 15 minutes of fame and will never ever reach the heights of the great teams of the 70's and 80's.

I didn't realise Shamrock Rovers fans, or indeed Dubs for that matter, regarded Liverpool and its inhabitants as rivals. Have I missed something?

From what I've read here you've missed a hell of a lot.
