He has came in for some heavy criticism but has answered critics recently by helping Southend to five consecutive clean sheets.

Saw Bolger play briefly for Noel King's U21s, but he only really appeared as a substitute so didn't really see enough to make a judgement. Players like Bolger and Kevin Long were kept out of the team mostly by the likes of Duffy, Kiernan, Egan, McGinty and Williams. All big, tall, hefty guys.

If they can push on and gain promotion (or if he can get an upward move himself a la John Egan), he could soon be on the radar for the international team. Interesting how a free transfer to Fleetwood may have ended up moving his career to a higher lever - let's hope he can take advantage of it.

He has been a tough one to figure out. Plenty game time at Bristol Rovers followed by a lateral move to Bolton and fits and spurts since but looks like he's settled at Fleetwood and they are sitting pretty for the Championship next season. All the best to him.
