If you look at Scum fans, what you see are the 40 year old, has-been, beer-bellied, wannabe soccer hooligans in their Celtic tops, who go to games just to get away from the whinging, nagging, chain-smoking beanpole they got pregnant when she was 15, and the 9 snot-nosed, track-suited, little gurriers they ended up with after too many nights of drinking cheap cider by the bonfire.....:p
Stop it! They're season ticket holders at dalymoan :D :D :D

Try getting from Phibsboro' to Inchicore in 30 minutes by public transport at rush hour - I've gotten to Longford quicker!
then walk.
1. The vast majority of our fans are factory workers since alot of the urban working class workforce work in factories in the industrial estates where shift work is a common trait. It is far more difficult for alot of our guys to get time off work to travel to games in particular when away games are on a Friday night. The reson that some Clubs like Cork have big away support in general is that the vast majority of their fans are either students (second & third level), blue or white collar workers (9 to 5 working hours) who can take time off and follow the team. We're the proletariat ffs.
What a load of boll0cks.
I know loads of City fans who always travel to away games that do shift work. I suppose it's easier to get time off if you do your shift work in Cork than in Waterford!!
We have plenty of students who go to all the away games, plenty of shift workers who go to all the away games and I'm sure there are one or two white collar workers aswell. We have a very mixed group of fans, that's what happens when you have as many fans as we do.
It's no easier for City fans to get time off than any other fans, maybe our fans just care more and make the effort.
Your other points were fair enough Partizan but ffs that point is a load of rubbish.
Oh wait I'm waiting for the usual stupid crass smart ass comments coming from the Fat Pack.
You know I think the boy actually says that with a straight face...
I might be a member of the Cork City bourgeois but I for one would like to nominate Parti-boy's post as the the best ever on foot.ie. There is no contest really, it pukes all over the anti-pro cetlic posts and that Longford one.

I was personally insulted and extremely upset to be classed as bourgeois. I am of the proletariat, by the proletariat and for the proletariat.
Then again, this was posted by someone who thinks the "Fat Pack" and "c*wkie" is original and funny, so I'll have to excuse him, as I guess they haven't quite reached lessons in the class struggle in junior infants as of yet.....:p

Sssshhh sure their up with the big boys again for another year !!!
Yep were up with the big boys again and of course wee derry city.
Harpskid how could you possibly rate Cork as the best away fans? You've played them once in how many years? LMFAO :D
...........yeah, Harpskid. What would you know?? You only go to the games FFS.
..........dancinpant/Morto here likes to give his daily insights into our club and our league in general . But he doesn't even have to go to games to give us his expert analysis on all things Harps/EL, he can do it from his keyboard on the other side of the Atlantic

What are ye talking about ya tool? He's basing his judgement on a SINGLE match played a couple of years ago ya spa!!. "You only go to the games FFS" - or mebbe he goes to all Corks away games, and therefore sees their away support at firsthand every 2nd week!!! So toodle off there now and tell yer pal Broomhall/Coleman that he can't have an opinion on the EL/Harps coz he lives on the other side of the Atlantic!!!

Sorry patsh, you have been found out by Partizan's analysis. Years of research on his part proved beyond doubt that you, indeed all us City fans,
are merely capitalist swine, and the downtrodden masses really support Waterford. Sure it's well known that you frequent the Hoseshoe and insist on pink champagne and caviar canapes before games, you have been rumbled...

It's ironic really that Rovers are without doubt the most vociferous fans that travel to the Brandywell and that Derry fans get quite a mention in a few posts considering both teams are doing brutal and are in 'transitional period'!
I get to very few away games so I'm not due much credit. Fact is most EL grounds don't do justice to the away fans anyway.
If we were to go by online displays Pats fans make some **** hot banners and Cork have followed suit.
Makes you wonder, do Shels deserve to be so succesful considering nobody really cares? - To word it correctly, Shels can win the league for the next decade and the will still have no fans!!
The only way to see EL fans at their best is to get the camera's to matches that might not count but the fan's are up for it!

By Christ is this the latest bitter crap being spouted about Shels :D
First we're dodging taxes, then everyone at our club is scum from the chairman to the fans, then someone claims the club is being run like a business with no consideration for the football while at the same time the person says we're running the club at a loss and there's money coming out of the chairmans own pocket (My personal favourite of the off season), now the accusation is Shels fans don't actually care about Shels, and they don't have any fans anyway, but the fans they don't have don't actually care, we just show up for the pristege associated with being at an EL match. We're only two weeks or so into the off season, I've a feeling there'll be some real gems coming up soon...

There is an argument to say that Shels doing well is bad for the league because they don't have any substantial support. There is no buzz around Shels because the fan base is so small. It's not that Shels fans don't care about Shels, it's that no one else does.

Tool, Spa??? Constructive and mature....just what I've come to expect from you.
I'll try and make this as simple as possible for you but I'm sure you will still have difficulty with it.
You slag off HIS opinion on fans that HE likes in the league, YET HE GOES TO THE ****ING MATCHES!
So who 'can't have an opinion'. Harpskid?? You obviously don't think he can have one yet you wouldn't know any EL teams away support if they walked over the top of you.
Colman??Cop on you idiot. For a start Colman is a shareholder of Finn Harps Co-Operative Society so therefore owns part of our club so he can say what he likes.
Double standards but thats nothing new.

First of all, we've the third highest attendence in the league, our fanbase is no better or worse than any other EL teams bar Cork really, despite the rubbish said about it.
And if no one else cares about is it's suprising that every second post is about us and how much people hate us really isn't it? What a load of rubbish that is. Christ take a look at the Bohs messageboard, there's more Shels threads on there than anything.

I think the reason that there is so much abuse towards Shels is that other clubs are very worried about the implications of them winning the league.Their signings so far are already an indication of the job that cork, longford, drogeda and the rest have in catching them.Total domination is always bad for a league just look at norway.I dont think Shels should be abused for being what they are the best team in ireland.
I think Rovers had "per population" biggest support at the cross this season with honourable mention to Pats.
Bohs disappointing early in season but then surprised with 50-100 at last game of season.
Shel$ worst as went from 21000 home support at Landsdowne to 50 at the cross a few days later in top of table game.
Harps fans do Monaghan!

Ya know ED we arrived at Tolka Park this season for our one and only FAI Cup tie earlier on in the season and actually outnumbered the home support. Maybe I'm being a wee bit unfair in that but the home support was alarming. I say that in light of your claim to have had the third highest attendance in the league. If this is the case I'm concerned for the league.
Having said that I enjoyed countless games at Tolka in my time in college and really look forward to our return next season.
I wont bother bringing the Hadjuk Split flag this time because that for me was one of the results of the season.

Yeah that was an awful crowd but on a saturday night against first division opposition in the cup obviously the crowd is going to fall. It hardly represents our average attendence, that'd be like saying Bohs crowd in the cup against that non league side or Kildare says anything about their average.
And sure bring the Split flag, it'll bring back some good memories :)

I think Derry deserve a special mention for bringing fans for a clash with Cork City. As a mid-table team, I wouldn't have thought any less of them if nobody came from Derry. But they were there making their presence felt. its a long trek from Derry to Cork.
The Cup semi tie 2/3 years ago was the best example of away support ive ever seen supporting the Eircom League. They must have brought 500-600 supporters for a Friday night game.
Pure Hardcore!
