Finn Harps chairman Peter Toner believes that the good working relationship between the board and manager Felix Healy helped the club into the eircom Premier Division.

Toner admitted that relationships with past managers had been mixed but since Healy’s arrival, everything seems to have been running smoothly. Harps won the First Division on the last day of the season courtesy of a 3-0 win over Dundalk after missing out on so many occasions in recent years.

"We would have had situations previously where there wasn’t the proper relationship between staff and the board and I think we have got a good balance now," said Toner.

The Harps’ chairman admits that the club now have a huge task in building their new stadium, while the Donegal outfit must also build a side that will keep them in the top flight.

"Our main priority is to have a team that can compete in the Premier Division. But equally so, we have a very big job in hand to get the new stadium up and running.

"Hopefully we will be in for planning within the next two or three weeks. We are at an advanced stage with that and despite what some of the doubters are saying, we are 110% intent on delivering a new stadium in Stranorlar."
