is there a bigger tosser involved in the LOI.....just read his piece on inside cork

here are some quotes

i have to admit the signing of neal fenn greatly surprised me. fenn is a super player, oozes imagination and style. however, city already had george o callaghan oozing similar imagination and style. and while george may not be the most handsome man in the rebel city(at least thats the word on the street), his abrasive talent can be a thing of great beauty

goes onto talk about wiggington, dennehy, morley and caulfield

these legendary individuals embellished their talent with a demanding and sometimes cranky, cantankerous instinctfor perfection. gorgeous george was also the perfect foil for john o flynn

unfortunatley i do not think that pat dolan fully understands the ramifications of this partnership. being new to cork, pat also failed to appreciate the tradition that almosts demands the eccentricity in the front line of its football team. Big patrick instead chose to emphasise the equally traditional but now rather antiquated dogma of cork being better than dublin

wonder has he a thing for georgie ;)

fcuking hell...there is some trolling here today

Not really, you asked a question and i just answered it. nothing wrong with that my friend is there? Rico is a well known figure not asocciated with Cork (even thou it's an article on cork) so anyone can reply to it. Anyone can reply to any thread if it is a sensibale response.

Think he just likes the idea of Flynny & George togther up front.
There are way bigger tossers involved in the LOI and you know it.
Rico is a City legend and losing him was probably the greatest loss this club has ever had.

I can just imagine him now saying "oozes imagination and style".
Brilliant.

Great to see that Damien has never lost it with his verbal embellishments !!!

The guy is a total legend ( at Shels too as far as I am concerned althought there was that year that we lost 0-3 home and away to Akranes... )

Met the guy once and he is very genuine. I just love listening to the banter between himself and all the commentators on Radio 1 Longwave, gas really.

did anyone read the Star today - in his column Pat Dolan takes a swipe at Damien Richardson and Noel "Howyeh" King commenting that both thier ex teams just won the league and there seemed to be a lot of resentment from Rico and King towards $hel$ and finn Harps! on TV3 last Monday night. king deserves all the criticsm he gets but i think a swipe at Rico was a bit over the top from the great man.

Everyone at Rovers has great respect for Rico too. He's a Rovers man through and through and an absolute gent. He loves the game and loves the league. Very disrespectful to call him a "tosser".

Richardson is the only reason to read that In Cork rag-apart from the fact that it's free.

You should see it's so called restaurant column -an insult to self respecting journalists everywhere.

And City fans should remember - it has a column by prendevill(age idiot).

Any chance that they could sign Daly and Spillage on a bosman?

in fairness rico usually has good things to say about city. he knows his football and he seems like a very nice fella. wouldn't worry too much about him spitting out bits of that thesaurus he seems to be chewing on all the time :)

Rico is a sound guy..met him a couple of times and he is as someone mentioned a geniune guy..it says it all when fans from other clubs come to a City forum and speak well about the guy on this thread..it is totally beyond me why an eircom league and CORK CITY FC fan would speak out in such a bad way against such a decent eircom league supporter..Rico babbles on at times but thats what makes him both funny and very inteligent about the game..he always speaks well about Cork...

i think calling damo a tosser shows you to be a real short term:i love pat dolan and georgie city fan: leave the real city fans to cheer on the the team , corner boy

Just like to add my two cents...

I think Rico is great and one of the fairest TV pundits in the game. Always enjoyed the football he played while at shels and he was the man who brought us Shero!! :)

He is far from a tosser

His article was just stating that what Pat had wasnt broke and he doesnt know why pat tried to fix it... I think he is right too. George and O'Flynn were the best pairing the league has seen in recent years (until Jayo and Crowe hopefully :D ) I dont think Cork needed Fenn and he might have been better spending that money on another position.

I dunno ... i think Rico is one of the better ones. This thread might be a bit harsh on the guy. He is fair and honest ... cant ask anymore than that !!

I remember in one of his first interviews when he took over from Noel O'Mahony he was discussing the upcoming European Cup fixtures and was particularly dismissive of Cwmbran Town, remarking that "we shouldn't even be playing these guys"!

Tuned into the radio on the night of the game to hear CT 3 CC 0 after 20 mins!

Still, he's one of the good guys and doesn't deserve top be the subject of a thread such as this!

I met the guy on a number of occasions at ireland matches....came over cause he saw the city shirt..he still has a grá for the club and is well respected..he was in the frame if dolan din't take the city job also....
think the guy is balanced in his opinions in general and shares dolans passion for Irish football.....deffo one of the good guys

Says a lot for the guy when he is so respected by so many fans from so many different clubs.
