yeah, Cottsy was a vital part of Dublin City's promotion bid signing from Kildare nearly eighteen months ago. He plays on either wing, but better on the right. he was Player of the year with Dublin City in the first season (2000-2001), and then player of the year at Kildare County the next (2002).
He is a great player with excellent vision, was one of the few players that the Dublin City fans would have liked to see stay.
Think there was a problem with Keely, they fell out at Kildare for some reason, but Cottsy has a great future ahead of himself if he manages to keep his eye on the game, he is a great talent.
Slightly disappointed to see him following roddy to Rovers though.

He'll do very well for you in the First Division. I always liked Deans (best moment: in gale force wind, he lumps the ball from 40 yards out and it sails into the Shels goal - 'Pat Deans, from the halfway line'), but he never really established himself. He started playing quite well towards the end of Buckley's reign, but Bucko insisted on playing Gough ahead of him (the decision to sub off Deans instead of Gough at Dalymount nearly caused a riot).
His natural position is centre-back, but we played him in centre-mid quite a lot and occassionaly at full-back.

Heard Brian Cash, former Nottingham Forest and Irish Underage player has joined Derry City. Heard of another player on loan from England by the name of Twigg, he hit 5 or so past Dunboyne in a friendly at the dog track recently.

St Patrick’s Athletic have signed former Republic of Ireland Under 21 midfielder Stuart Holt from Monaghan United.
The midfielder makes the move to Richmond Park just three days before the transfer window shuts as he hopes to prove once again his qualities in the Premier Division after a season in the First Division with Monaghan United.
Formerly with Shamrock Rovers and Longford Town, Holt shot to prominence two seasons ago when called into the Republic of Ireland Under 21 squad by Don Givens.
“Two years ago I was in the Irish Under 21 squad and playing in the Premier Division and I want to get back to that standard,” said Holt.

Should that be Derek Phillips by any chance?
Never seen him play but in an old version of Champo he's
with Derry. Always get him on loan to Town and get him signed
the season after.

Stephen Brennan, decent signing for Shels, he's on loan until July, is that because he's going back to Newcastle or he's being released and wants to try his luck in England again or what?. It wouldn't make a lot of sense for Newcastle to send him on loan somewhere where he's not going to be first choice.

Brennan was one that always impressed me for the U21s, good cover for Heary at last. Still sad to see the Doc go, even if it is only on loan.

This should be comprehensive:
IN:
Jason Gavin (Bradford)
Cathal O'Connor (Kildare County)
Brian McGovern (Longford - season loan)
Michel Wolski (Kilmarnock - signed on four month deal)
Pat McCourt (Rochdale)
Will McDonagh (Carlise)
Lee Feeney (Glenavon)
Martin Cameron (Brentford)
OUT:
Terry Palmer  (released)
Noel Mooney (Limerick)
Trevor Crolly (Kildare)
Patrick Deans (Dublin City)
Shane Robinson (Drogheda)
Mark O'Brien (Bohs)
Marc Kenny (released)
Fiachra MacArdle (Dundalk)
There were quite a few lads over on trial (don't know if we were trying them or they were trying us!), so there might be one or two more for the 'in' column. Re: Mark O'Brien, his has been a Tony Grant-style saga. I'm pretty sure he's signed. Jason McGuinness will be staying with us though. As for Marc Kenny, he was supposed to sign for us but it 'fell through'. Technically he's not an 'out' as he was never 'in', but thought he was worth mentioning.
Overall, there's some good signings. McCourt and Gavin are the pick of the bunch. Pity to lose Crolly (he's taking on a coaching role at Kildare) and we're all gutted to see Terry leave. There's a fair bit of anger being directed at Roddy for letting a legend like Terry get released.
