A left back who has represented Ireland underage who's is in the Aston Villa squad for the match v Newcastle. Has a good chance of featuring as Richardson is out and Cissokho is struggling. One to keep an eye on possibly.

Are we sure on that one? Seems like it hasn't been a while since he played for us?

Kinsella from Watford does sound promising enough though.

It has been a while alright. Nonetheless he is one to follow for the future.

can't find any mention of him representing Ireland on fai.ie or rte.ie, and he's missing from the photo of Irish players at Villa a few seasons ago - http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/aston-villa-fc/2012/01/21/mcleish-hails-the-spirit-of-aston-villa%E2%80%99s-blarney-army/
He's been mentioned on here a few times, but not with any underage international game. None of this is definitive BTW, I'm just saying I can't find any proof that he is Irish, or even eligible

Checked thefa.com as well and he's only mentioned on various lists of contracted players. Villa have a fairly high profile academy, you'd think any player from there would have some international recognition.

<EDIT>

Turns out he's been asked this before on twitter and doesn't qualify: https://twitter.com/Lewis_kinsella/status/260060535519838208

@VillaPaddy have Irish great grand parents so can't play for Ireland has to be grandparents

My fault then. I was sure he had played for Ireland underage. He didn't even make the bench for today afterall. Oh well, I guess the thread can be deleted or locked.
