Just Looking at the fixture list for next season, from a purely social point of view at this stage, Positives: Two away days in Galway and looking forward to having pints in Inchicore again.
Negatives:Only one away day in Derry, and Four trips to Louth.
What fixtures are others looking forward to next Season.

Cork away on a Monday night is a big negative. Sligo, Rovers and Pats at home twice should bring decent crowds.

Dundalk first match
If cousins has us sharp from the pre-season it's a great chance to get 3 points from them, they may well take it for granted that it will be a handy 3 points for them, generally the underdog only gets 1 chance to beat the champions, and I believe this is ours as I can't see them losing to us when the season is in full flow, roll on March 6th

True, we managed to catch Derry on the hop in our opening game when we first came up in 2000 at the Brandywell.
Although Stephen Kenny may remember that as well....

I am very interested in the start that we make. I think the king will have his homework done on Longford. Previous winners St Pats, Sligo and Rovers made slow starts in their attempt to reclaim the title and probably left with to much to do.
We won our first 8 games in a row I think the year after we won the league.

Anyone got a list of pre-season games announced so far, including the LSC game? Off the top of my head I think aside from the Drogheda game we're playing Shels, Athlone and Waterford at some stage but I don't know the dates.

Finished 4-3 to Town. I think Cowan got three, not sure who got the other one but updates were thin on the ground.
Edit - Cowan 2, Dave Sully, and Tom Morris apparently.

Not a thriller as the scoreline suggests mainly down to the pitch being totally sh1te. 2 of our goals (just like last week) were goalkeeper errors (even though I thought hunt may have been fouled for the first but not many else do).
The goalkeeper situation is very worrying that's 4 goals in 2 pre-season games down to goalkeeper error from 3 different keepers.
Back 4 looks solid as youl get, Pat Sully could play right full if he's not up against a pacey winger, Tom Morris has been one of the stand out performers from the first two games and is a real goal threat as he showed last season. Powell looks a solid act at left full, Rossiter looks like he's lacking Match fitness which is understandable having not played much in the last while.
Midfield again looks defensively solid with Ricer and Salmo in supreme condition and I was inpressed with the way Don came inside time after time to create scoring chances and took his 2 goals well, should have had a hattrick. On the other wing, Shannon's set pieces seemed to have improved quite a lot but his general in play cross, like Don is still not up to scratch so a bit worried about that. Rhys and Kevin O'Connor looked good in the creative role. Sully and Shaw look in top condition, especially Sully who scored the goal of the night with a supreme half volley over the keepers head from about 25 yards out. However, again if one of those get injured You'd be very worried.
Like I said pitch was awful tonight so a lot of long ball unlike last week when we had a perfect surface in Lexlip to play on (never played one long pass last week) so hard to read too much into tonight but Athlone had one or two tidy players and created a fair amount of chances so expect them to be right up there this season.
While people will criticse Don's end product, like I said he came in to the centre a lot tonight and got 2 goals so I honestly think if he keeps that up the pace of the premier will suit him and he could score a lot of goals for us. Id be worried about a lack of goals from the other side but despite being mainly focused on the defensive side of things I can see Rice and Salmo grabbing a fair share among the midfielders so that should help with Sully and Shaw's goals too.
If we can sort out giving silly goals away and the back 4 lives up to its billing we should be more than fine this season.

Any performances of note from the subs? Was it mainly senior players that came on or did he dip into the u19s again?
Wouldnt be too concerned about mistakes just yet in fairness that's what pre-season is for.

I for the first time that I can remember wont be able to make any of the preseason games.. I was hoping to make Saturdays game but will be in my bed asleep from doing night duty and there is no way that I am getting up for it! if it was an evening game I would have made all of it. oh well will have to hold out for Dundalk game which I am certainly goin to!
btw there was an interview with Ricer in todays Mirror where he wants us to walk before we can run to stay up in this years Premier Division!
