That's looking very strong, but there is a the glaring lack of Gearóid Morrissey who we will undoubtedly miss IMO.
I presume he is sussing out his options across the pond ?
I see Liam Kearney has been helping Georgie O Callaghan out in Malaysia, is this a temporary appointment?

If Gearoid goes to England we are due compensation, so that should be invested in a replacement if it happens.
Gavan Holohan may play in there at times, but would expect his main position to be in behind the striker in the role Buckley played last year.

any compensation for Geaorid (like all transfer fees) would be invested in facilities.

There'd be wages freed up anyway for that position.. unless it's already been filled.
Another central defender, winger and striker would be great if we can afford a few more.

Barry Molloy has rejected a new contract with ourselves at because of the "vastly reduced" money on offer.
Disappointing, but can understand the reduced wages and his subsequent decision.

Would be a decent signing for the likes of Longford/Drogs or Galway. A good pro and a good player.

It's likely that none of the clubs you named would be able to offer more than Derry. He's probably leveraging for a better deal or more likely, he could be Irish League bound.

Longford look like they don't mind splashing the cash. Surely he wouldn't be looking for more than someone like Stephen Rice would have been last season.

Rice's signed up for 2015 already so don't think we'd be in for Molloy. I presume he's based in Derry so he'd be looking for somewhere closer to home anyway if he was leaving.

Well Derry are irrelevant now as Molloy has rejected their offer. They offered him reduced terms as their valuation of him has fallen, but that doesn't mean their valuation is out of Drogs or Longford's price range. Still, I'd be surprised if he went anywhere other than the Irish league.

The interesting thing on the 4 (F's) Dundalk have is, I dont see Kenny starting with any of these, also Byrne is used more in the MF area behind the striker, also young O'Connor is still on loan and scoring with Warrenpoint, not sure when that ends.
We still need a replacement for Hoban. Also it does look as if Towell did sign for 2015 (but not announced), I`m sure he will be running out of time come Jan to find a UK club, its possible thats a release clause he has.
This is one strong squad though, and it will give us the best chance ever perhaps of trying to retain the league title, a feat never done previously by the club, which shows how hard it is to to. (and only by 3 others clubs I think...............Bohs, Rovers, Shels)

Correction Bohs on one occasion retained the league
Never retained by Bohs but Pats and Cork Utd managed it as did Shels once and of course Rovers have done it on numerous occasions!

Apologies, never realised Pats retained the league previously, see it now on wiki. 1950's and late 1990's. Fair play.

Cork athletic also retained it in 1951. It's interesting how rare it is for clubs to win leagues on the bounce. I was surprised to see that Shamrock Rovers have only retained it 4 times, closely followed by Cork United with 3 (it's unlikely they'll catch them). Also, Shels have never retained it.
