hopefully a big crowd tonight in Deacy Park, but the weather is getting really bad here in Galway now. Great to have some big games back in this neck of the woods.

Nice of Liam Buckley to rest a couple of first teamers in preparation for Shamrock Rovers' bid to grab the last European place.

ET says a huge roar went up at a packed Turner's Cross, when it was announced that Dundalk were one down. Many from Bohs down?

Limerick should be up at half-time. Some international visitors here in the East Stand are enjoying the home supports chanting in the east terrace. Fine view from here. Won't get this in the Markets Field but sure won't worry about that. Limerick need to return home.

Great speech by Pat O'sullivan at half-time in the lashing rain! Plan is to kick off next season in the Markets Field!!

UCD not deserving of their half time lead, but defending well. Can't see evidence of a team given up, accepting relegation.
Horrific conditions here though. Driving, non-stop rain, 39kmph winds.
Imagine this craic in proper winter.

6000 is the crowd at Turner's X.

Edit: 6,219 official.

Ah, here. How are Athlone winning in Richer?

If Dundalk can get a winner in Bray, the final round could be quite interesting at both ends.

Here's two fingers to all on soccer republic (all except Davy with the smile ) who gave us no chance in the title race this season. Win lose or draw next week its been a great season for Cork City FC.

Dundalk's equaliser doesn't matter in their scheme of things, they will still have to beat Cork to win the title.
Over the season, Cork hung in there like a leech, surely it will be time for them next week to finally accept their valiant runners up spot.

Not a bad crowd down to be fair, some even mixing with the locals in the horseshoe, and many down in halloween costumes.

The only thing funnier than Kenny's bottle jobs is the way he wipes his tears on big wads of Rovers' cash.

Limerick should have won by 3 or 4. Sligo had about a dozen supporters at the game. O'Sullivan says he cannot be depended on as a sugar daddy! Limerick require 2500 on a regular basis was his opinion.

Almost worth every penny to see him bottle it this week :brolly:... in fairness would pay a lot to see Rovers in Dundalk's position

Great to see Galway win 2-0. The Premier Division needs them to get promoted.

Shels will have to improve big time if they hope to overcome Galway for the play-off place. Not a bad game at all, in the rain, and I was impressed by the ref also. He did not seem to be looking for attention unlike our top refs. Crowd over 1700, including the Chairman of the league and Michael D an tUachtarán. A large number of Guards there, do they over do it a bit in the league of Ireland, however they ensured traffic moved quickly after the match.
I would guess 100 there from Shels, which I think supports the case for a one division league.

What a job Alan Mathews has done at Bray, saw the Shels fans give him bad abuse at a game in Tolka last season. It seems that Cork have proved the experts on this forum wrong by staying the course, but it probably is down to their lack of knowledge of affairs outside the Dublin area. Hope Athlone can pull it off as there would be an away crowd in Eamon Deacy Park if Galway hold on in the 2nd leg.

Well this has been an interesting day. Wonder what effect the game in Dundalk will have on attendances in the other five grounds next Friday? That's my excuse in early anyway.

Great win for Galway too, and they'll be happy to see both UCD and Athlone having to play for a win next week.

Absolutely buzzing after that tonight don't care if it was a poor game it's going down to the last game and now we have cancelled out dundalks advantage of goal difference and can now afford to draw the game. Seat on the bus booked now just to get a ticket.. also what an amazing crowd just incredible considering how bad the weather was all day but luckily cleared up before kick off. Won't be easy next week far from it up in their backyard but I believe we have a score to settle from when they won the league down here

I heard a lot of Cork fans were getting tickets while Dundalk had them on general sale, but that might be nonsense.

What a total choke by Dundalk/Kenny tonight. Next Friday night should be electric. Paddy Power have both teams to win the league at odds of 10/11.

Tbf UCD looked like a team who so wanted to win and Derry just played like they didn't want to have any injuries!

Ok Derry didn't use our normal back four but it was a strong team on.

Put your mortgage on Bohs at home V Derry next Friday!

ps the weather was absolutely appalling.

It's absolutely hilarious if Dundalk have managed to throw the league away to a poor Cork side right at the end. Cork should be able to secure at least a draw there now.

Buses only I'd say, the Cork to Dublin train goes to Heuston so it'd involve a switch across the city to Connolly station.

It doesn't if you have a special train running, as they have the wherewithal to get across to the nortern line.

maybe we don't play the most attractive football but a poor side doesn't win 22 out of 32 games only losing 4 of those. Dundalk will have to attack from the start and given our last 2 visits to oriel that worries me but it's great to go up there when a draw would be enough. They will be all over us because they have to but that should leave them vulnerable to counter attacks.. Will the old temporary stand be up again yeah?

17 clean sheets and we're still a poor side. Doesn't say much about everyone else!
