Saw this kid Stokes playing schoolboy football a few years ago for Shelbourne and he looked like an amazing prospect.

Yeah Liam Brady spotted him. I posted an article about him on Soccercentral about 3 months ago, before the site went dow for a few days and all the old articles were lost :(
Anyway he joined Arsenal at 15 and was soon promoted from the U16 to the U18 side and now he's getting a few reserve games. Wenger seems to rate him too as he had a training session with the senior team at the start of the season. He's supposed to be a similar player to Shearer (if only) in fact the article I read was titled Tony O'Shearer :D
He's only 16 so he's not going to fix our striking problems for this WC campagne but he's going to be a hot prospect sometime in the next few years.

Nice one EB that was the exact article. Didn't know it came from the Gooner's website. A mate of mine in London emailed it to me.

Have been reading Arsenal reserve team match report with interest lately. Mainly for Stokes who is getting quite a few games now. Also the 3 other irish lads in the reserves - Sean Kelly, Stephen O'Donnell and Patrick Cregg who had a cameo last night. Very exciting considering the quality of the Arsenal youth set up of late.
