Anyone at it? Did we play well? Heard Cretaro missed a penalty.

UCD kept alive their hopes of clinching the First Division title with an unconvincing win at Belfield Park. College almost broke the deadlock on 29 minutes with Robbie McAuley supplying the pass to striker Willie Doyle in a crowded goalmouth. But his close range-effort rebounded off the crossbar into the arms of grateful Sligo keeper Alvin Rouse. But all that pressure told when the Students took the lead on 33 minutes. with striker Phillip Hughes shooting home from eight yards out. College almost stretched their lead in the second half when Paul Byrne and Ciaran Foley just missed out.

Sligo then missed scoring an equaliser on 61 minutes when Stephen Feeney was fouled by Foley in the box. Referee Neil Doyle awarded a penalty and up stepped Rafael Cretaro only to see his spot-kick rebound off the crossbar with Quigley beaten.

College eventually made the points safe in third minute of added time when Hughes supplied a perfect ball for Byrne to shoot home.

Sligo Rovers: Rouse; Gallagher (O’Dwyer, 80 mins), McNamara, Sheridan, Gorman; Heffernan, Feeney, Foley (Curran, 64 mins), McCartney; Cretaro, Jack (Carty, 55 mins).
