I've been talking to one or two people during the week and found out one or two interesting things.

-Lennox and Dolan have not spoken to each other for over a month

-Hoggie, Woods and Mcnulty(Cork lads) have all been offered new contracts

-Dan Murray ( Captain) has not yet been offered a new contract

-Lennox wants a team made up of all Cork Lads to challenge for the title

-Dolan has not been offered an extension to his contract yet so is therefore picking Cork lads for the team in an attempt to avoid stepping on Lennox's toes

-There is a clear split in the ranks between players, 2 seperate groups

Now I'm a Cork lad and would love to see a team made up of all Cork lads go on and win the league. That's the idealist in me. The realist in me tells me this is not possible and will never happen.

Dolan was talking to one of the players fathers this week and told him that the reason some players were not in the team at the moment was not because of their form or the teams form but simply because they are not from Cork. That is an absolute disgrace and the more I thought about it the more it made sense to me.

-Fenn was playing brilliant and suddenly got dropped and now can't get back in the team.

-Danny Murphy was in with a shout for our player of the season, gets suspended for one game and can't get back in the team.

-Denis Behan bangs in goals for the U21's for fun and couldn't get a run in the team when Flynny couldn't hit a barn door!!!

Those are just 3 that spring to mind. Lennox told players when the were signing for the club, including non-corkonians, of the ambition he had for the club. So why now is he going backwards????

Why is he interfering with team selection????

Why will Dolan not do his job as team manager and pick the players he wants in his team?????

Why, since Georgie made his little outburst to the paper, has there been less non-corkonians in the team????

I know people will point to the run of 7 wins and say 'why change a winning team?' and I agree but that run is over now and it's time to find out whats really going on in the club. Not playing players because of where they are from is nothing short of racism!!!!!

I wanna know who is running the club, Lennox, Dolan, or Georgie???

Eric, this is hearsay.

If any on it turns out to be true, then we can forget about winning the title next season.

Manger to manage, players to play, and the chairman/board to ensure that the condidtions are right to make the above two things happen.

Are you Éanna in disguise!? :p
7 wins and a draw in our last 8 games, I knew Dolan couldn't have orchestrated that. You must be right Eric, Dolan isn't in charge. :D

It's not hearsay Patsh, and not being smart but I've actually been trained in spotting and not using hearsay!!!!! :D

I've been talking to 2 players this week, one of whom is not in the team at the moment, and both of them have told me exactly what I have put up

It could all be coincidence. mmm.

I still think there is an under-current of bad feeling in the squad.

I would hope that Lennox is keeping his nose out of the team affairs and is concentrating on getting a new training complex.

well, you're the one who made the link/jump.

just wondering how you think the chairman can be picking the team based on a post that says he hasn't spoken to the manager in over a month?

That lennox wants a team full of cork lads must compromise Dolan's decision making.

I realise your training prepares you well for this Eric,;) , but what one or two players say to you IS hearsay until it can be proven.
I also know that you would'nt post these things for mischief, so what you say is quite worrying.....:(

if this is true then lennox would seriously want to back off...

Joe ...Lennox doesnt have to talk to Dolan to put him under pressure to do things...other people can do this for him...Also the changes were made more than a month ago....

As Eric said, I would love to see a City team full of cork lads win teh title but cant see it happening......If Dolan is dropping players because they are not from cork then thats **** and agree its fuct up....

BUT..............

City are were on a winning/undefeated streak and the players who have come in have played very well and dont deserve to be dropped, It may just be coincidence that al the cork lads came in at the same time.....If he has been told to play cork lads, then why are doyle & Murray still playing??? surely he could play lordan instead of murray and a cork lad up front instead of doyle under that thinking???

I dont know what to believe....Players who are out of hte team usually try to justify why they're not in the team and can come to some strange assumptions...Hopefully this is the case.....

We have a better shape at the moment than when fenn was playing... I am a great fan of fenns and still think he can play a massive part for the club but at the moment we look better with kevin and john up front....

Dan Murphy was unlucky, got injured and greg came in has has doen extremely well, the team has only conceded 2goals in 8 games so who would change this.???

Murray not being offered a new contract is not suprising...probably trying to scare him into redicovering his old form.....

Was the father in question a father of a player in or out of the team.....???
Again if it is true then it doesnt show the chairman or the manager in a great light...The chairman for sticking his noes in where it doesnt belong and the manager for not haveing the balls or principles to stand up to the chairman....IF this is true then dolan would be in his right to resign over the interference and I would stand by his decision and lose all respect for Lennox...Again IF it is true......

Again I think the truth lies in the middle of this somewhere......Hopefully they can sort it out......

realistically, i don't think anyone here knows what, if anything, is going on 'behind the scenes' and discussing it here is unlikely to make us any wiser.

Not sure what to make of this.
Every source is baised.
Danny has started during the so-called winning run before suspension gave Greg his opportunity.
And why would there be talk of a contract for Dolan if Lennox wasn't happy with him?

It find this hard to believe to be honest ..... as you said yourself it is idealism not realism ..... Has Lennox (http://vision.york.ac.uk/articles/150/politics/images/mugabe.jpeg) just u-turned on his ambition for success. Sounds like a mad mans plan really, just look at the quality on the bench.

Those players could have been taking the píss or something !!

I'm with Neil on this one. the team is doing well, why change it. Fenn is an excellent player, but we're a better team with him on the bench, same goes for Murphy IMO. As for Dan Murray not getting a new contract, I honestly don't think hes earned it. A lot fo speculation is all this is. I'd love to see a team of all Cork lads, but it won't happen, an Lennox is no fool- he knows that as well as any of us

Re: "Cork" lads in the team, Lennox might just have a point.

Does bringing in very average players like Hedderman, Lopes, Nwankwo, etc make sense when we have/had players just as good as them already, players like Mucca etc who've been let go.

Barca always try to have as many Catalans as they can IF (BIG IF) they are good enough. IF they are not then they get a non-Catalan. Dont see why there should be a problem if City pursue the same plan. That doesnt mean that players who are good enough should be kept out of the team by crap players from Cork.

Lennox hasnt said anthing. Dolan has. I know who's comment's I always take with a pinch of salt

What exactly is a "Cork Lad"?

Would the likes of Tambling, Ludzic, and Wiggington have qualified? After all they settled here.

So how can you say that some of the present day generation of imports won't do the same?

Behan is from West Limerick - does that disqualify him?

This just sounds like the work place grumbling of dissatisfied employees. Nothing like a bit of frustration to generate rumours and conjecture. Mind you, it's good to know that the players are unhappy to be out of the squad.

Although our winning run ended against shels, we're still on a pretty good run. Haven't lost in a few months. Why would the manager change such a team?

Storm in a tea cup, methinks

IMO he should make a few changes tonite, they looked wrecked friday night, all these games in such a short period of time is taking its toll on some players, if we play tonite like we did on friday, drogs will destroy us,there much better than derry and they know they need a result to qualify for europe,

possible changes:
soflynn starts
lopes starts

I'm not going to get involved in the 'Cork' versus 'non-Cork' speculation but I do want to question your labelling Lopes as average when he hasn't really had enough games yet to show us whether he is good, bad, or completely indifferent. Surely he is entitled to a bit of a run in the side before people start dismissing him as 'average'. We were pretty average on Friday night till he came on as a sub. there were times last Friday when it was like a recurring nightmare. Mickey Devine was hoofing the ball up the middle and Derry were winning everything in the air, so what does he do? Keeps hoofing it...It was amazing the difference Lopes made, there were so many high balls being thumped up in the air and it wasn't till he came on and had the confidence to pull the ball down and play it on the floor that we started to pile on the pressure that eventually got us the penalty.
Don't get me wrong now, I know Behan did a great job in the air when he came on as well but the point is that there was a lot more variety, a lot more threat in our attacking, once Lopes was on. I'm not saying he is the definitive midfield player because I haven't seen him play often enough. What I am saying is on Friday night's showing he deserves more games and he doesn't look average to me.
The only thing I will say about having Cork lads in the team is that whoever the manager might be they should always try to have a core of locals in the side, guys who understand the whole Cork-Dublin rivalry and so on, but you have to pick people on merit. Pick the best eleven players, basically.

I recently heard from a squad members father that he was unhappy with all the imports in the team and the feeling in some parts that the team play with more heart without the imports. This was said to me after the 4-1 win over waterford which coincided with the return of greg.

Now mind you this parent is only probably concerned about his sons future as he has yet to make his el debut.

Both these players have only really played for the u-21s this season.
It would be crazy to start either of them in a game of this importance.
